      They aren't close to being against ropes. Iran is not Hamas. They can make themselves very much a problem.

      Russia is increasingly reliant on Iran, and that is a an important consideration

      Israel can't exactly go in and occupy Tehran

            Can't look weak. I am not sure I understand Iran's strategy, or the strategy of their alliance group (Russia & China) but I believe it includes wasting Israeli, US, NATO resources and causing chaos.

                That is interesting and would make some sense. The Swiss also play a diplomatic go-between role in North Korea as well.

                          The US isn't militarily isn't funding Iran or Hezbollah or Hamas, and they didn't arm ISIS. That's something people repeat to sound edgy. You are rooting for the guy who salutes North Korean military officers and roots for their side in a conflict against a Western Democracy.
