I am going to reserve judgement on Walz until Uncle Ted weighs in with a measured and thoughtful analysis.
It seems like both candidates are doing their best to not win this election. Shapiro was the perfect choice.

Walz is the most liberal of all the options talked about. It would have been helpful to have a more moderate candidate.

Agreed, I was hoping for Shapiro. Would have been a great attack dog. But alas, it could just come to down to internal chemistry. I heard one pundit a couple of weeks ago emphasize that as the most important factor when choosing a running mate.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Depends on whose paying for it all

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I am on holiday right now but took a quick look at the news… Minnesota was a lost cause for Gop’ers anyway. Pennsylvania is a much better prize. Former teacher so he will secure the teacher union endorsement… oh wait, Harris already had that too. I wonder what the twitters are sayings…

Yeah, RJK Jr is going to get a boost in the polls.

              • Cuban weighs in with an interesting point. The contrast between hope/positivity/humor is pretty stark. I remember way back when Clinton ran for the first time. The Repub convention was all about the dangers out there in America (gay people, abortion, welfare queens, crime, etc.) and the Dem convention was about hope and how America could be better moving forward. The killer was the final night of the convention after Cinton accepted the nomination. They brought the families up and I believe they were blasting Fleetwood Mac, and much younger HIllary and Tipper Gore were dancing and swinging each other to the music. It looked fun and a stark contrast to the glum nature of the Repubs.

It feels like a speed bump to me.

Maybe Trump is right and the Fed shouldn't cut rates until after the election.

Yeah… I can’t wait for the attack ads. Mike Murphy posting lots of good information.

With the job numbers heading south cutting rates could cause stagflation which would be really fun.

                              • A big part of the market volatility has been triggered by automated trades in response to Japanese banking changes and yen valuations. Lots of organizations were borrowing yen to buy stocks. Jobs data aren’t that bad.
