This is why I think, at this point, this ass-clown is more dangerous than Trump. Old Gregg is right that all this will bring is a hard reaction from the left that is probably overreaching, but necessary to combat this absolutely stupid law that helps no one. But, as always, conservative assholes can't help themselves when it comes to living everyone else's life for them. The thing that pains me is that I'm sure there was a time in my life that I would have applauded this. Now, I just can't stomach any Republican. Such a crappy party, with crappy leaders who count on the votes of people that are either ignorant, or just plain mean.

it's not an invalid point, it's a perfect example of why ideological legislation enforceable against teachers and educators fails. it's a book that is in part related to the oppression faced by someone because of their race. making that book or any book that does that available is a facial violation of the law. that it's an absurd result is evidence of the absurdity that this is a law, not that someone would act rationally to try to protect themselves from enforcement. it's also a perfect example of exactly why this is worse for students. i don't understand how anybody can countenance the embrace of censorship. it is bad for everybody that's not ron desantis and the boomer culture warrior votes he's buying. disgusting.

Within a few weeks of the law being passed, the state of Florida banned a bunch of textbooks from being used anymore in Florida schools. Some were as inane as math textbooks. Math textbooks? The state said those books did not comply with the law. Whatever.

This is the environment the state created through its own actions where educators are scared of getting in trouble.

Also, how much daylight is there between Trumps seditious acts and DeSantis? Dude is an election denier and has never denounced Trumps actions which should be immediately disqualifying.
