  • Romney fears that if Trump wins he might face his revengeful wrath. It's not in this article, but Romney spent a lot in private security after J6. I think we can put the whole "democrats were the meanest to Romney," narrative to rest.

Coppins, earlier in the interview with host Jake Tapper, said a possible Trump win was “not something” that Romney wanted to talk about, adding that he talked with the senator for two years for the book.

“He was usually very candid with me. ... And I asked him about it, and he didn’t want to go there at first,” Coppins said.

Coppins later emphasized to CNN that the protection of Romney’s grandchildren is a “real concern” for the senator.

“And I think it’s a pretty stark reminder of where we are as a country, that the 2012 Republican presidential nominee is so worried, afraid about what it would mean for his personal safety, his family safety, if the current Republican nominee wins,” Coppins said.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. • Our options for president are truly ghastly. I suppose the best outcome is a Harris presidency with a GOP controlled Senate. But Harris is terrible, with poor policies, and is being propped up by a complicit media class without anything close to appropriate scrutiny. How fortunate to be a political candidate opposite Trump.

In the event of a Harris win, this more than anything else will likely be the reason. She benefits from very low expectations, though I do think she is intelligent and not a terrible political leader.

The messenger distracts from the quality of the message here, but this is basically the same pitch to the furniture industry that he's made the steel, auto, manufacturing industries elsewhere. They do make a lot of furniture in North Carolina! Its a real industry, or was. I'm sure they are feeling the pinch from cheap Scandinavian Chinese furniture and the industry is in decline.

yeah most of his diatribes are very loosely based on some truth. It's just the bizarre probably spur of the moment quip that his plan to help industries is leading to countries trying to assassinate him.

That's only like 2 strands of the 50 strand "weave" Trump had going. That's why you can't take just a 30-5:00 minute clip of him because it takes at least 20 minutes for one thread to emerge on the other side.

                          • Nationally embarrassing Trump videos are getting boring at this point. Still, using Zelensky as a prop while he defends himself from impeachment #1 is up there. But stick around to watch him bragging about his great relationship with Putin, while laughing off Zelensky as he vocally hopes a Trump-led US would favor Ukraine at this point. Monumentally embarrassing. Well, embarrassing to at least half the nation I hope.
