Paul Ryan, the other day in an interview, said we can’t back Trump he’s a loser! Sununu says the same thing, McC has said he’d back Trump if he wins the nomination.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

The main problem with the right is that no one save Mitt, Adam and Liz has said he’s unfit and shouldn’t be the nominee. They all say, we lose with him. The problem with that stance is the second he starts winning primaries they will all jump back on the Trump train and say, he’s winning again!

Wait a minute. I thought Mitt and Liz "have the stink of Trump"? You are not going to start dabbling with nuance are you?Originally posted by fusnik View Post

They aren’t palatable to folks like myself and a huge swath of center left voters, because they placated Trump for years.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

I can’t trust Liz because she shoveled Trumps shit for 4 years and told those of us living in reality that we were the crazy ones not the cult members and GOP voters following in lock step with a would be dictator.
Again I’m glad she’s found Jesus, but she knew better and because she knew better and placed power and party over country she shouldn’t hold elected office.
This isn’t hard to understand nor controversial. Most here wouldn’t hire Trump to run a night shift at a convenience store yet the GOP supported and lauded that clown for 6 years and are poised to do it again.

McConnell has definitely been a Trump enabler. He should've taken Trump's second impeachment as an opportunity to make a difference.Originally posted by fusnik View Post

The right has moved so far right that he is indeed center.
who do you consider to be a moderate?
The main problem with the US political climate is tribalism. It manifests in many ways, but here are a couple:
1) Believing that the other side is where all the problems are (using the word "evil" frequently, etc) and that your side is mostly immune.
2) Not being able to do something as simple as acknowledge when one of your political opponents do something right or make a good point without following it up with "Yeah, but he ...".
If you do this routinely, you are part of the problem."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

Obvs you haven’t read my posts over the last 20 years.
I despise the Bernie Sanders left. I highly dislike the new left wave of progressive thought. It’s the reason why I pine for two rational healthy parties. When you have two healthy parties they can actually work together without fear of primary and excommunication.
Id lay the blame at the GOP at roughly 70-75% throughout the Obama years and at about 90% through the Trump years. I think that thought has been justified considering the rhetoric of the main stream right since 2008. Since Trump invaded our lives I can’t blame a democrat for not wanting to cut deals with the GOP. How can you work with the likes of Gaetz and MTG and Boebert and post Trump Rubio and Cruz, etc. These aren’t rational or good faith actors. They don’t want consensus or compromise. They want to create viral moments that Uncle Ted can spam here and IPU can post to his FB wall for the purposes of painting democrats as evil and owning the libs.
I guess you want the center left to just dismiss the last 15 years of the GOP turning into a racist, isolationist, and crazy party and extol the virtues of tax cuts for billionaires because sometimes the other side gets things right!
Sans J6 you might be able to forge that argument but it laid open the cravenness and rot for all to see of the Media right, the political right and the voting right.

No offense, but that article seems very sketchy. I’m not sure I’d take the word of a supposed terrorist on anything, especially in an opinion article.Originally posted by Maximus View Post"Discipleship is not a spectator sport.
