I guess you missed the points so let me spell it out for you: (1) Only a small percentage of asylum seekers actually get admitted as a refugee. (2) And of those refugees a small percentage of them are actually from any south/central american country. Claiming all those coming across the southern as "asylum seekers" is obviously a false assertion.

Props for trying to keep Ted honest and correcting bad information. You are the latest in a long line of CSers who have tried to engage him in good faith, but have failed. We all know Ted’s role here. No one expects his link-heavy replies to answer any serious response. There’s a reason why he’s known as the ‘bot. You know exactly which side of the issue he will post about, which ‘news’ sources he will draw from, and what kind of news stories will lead to him posting. I’m sure there’s an algorithm there.

It’s pointless to try to correct or argue in good faith with Ted. But he’s good to have around. He’s always good for a chuckle. And you just have to admire his dauntless energy here. I mean, he is the energizer bunny of CS! He will not ever quit posting, even when no one is encouraging him!
