Maybe helps an asylum seeker's case, I guess, by claiming they are also economically depressed but is not a valid reason by itself, it seems.
As for the economically depressed maybe we should be helping the homeless folks in this country first and maybe giving guns to the folks in these socialist countries like Venezuela (which has more oil reserves than other countries) so these poor folks can improve their economic condition. Note that the folks here were economically depressed by a dictator (king) at one time. People here didn't try to seek asylum in some other country to improve their economic condition. It required a revolution against the ruling government to change that.
