Biden/Harris: A Presidency for All Americans

I should be more disappointed. I wanted to believe Biden at his word. So now not only was a below average president he doesn't have much integrity either.

Just think, in 4 more years, the pardoned Hunter Biden could be named as a US Ambassador.
Or is that something that is reserved for family members that Trump pardoned?

Oh, for that Hunter should get a free pass, even after Joe said he wouldn’t do it? LOLOriginally posted by Maximus View Post

Enjoy your legacy, Grandpa Joe! Lies from beginning to the very end.

Dumb move by Biden. He explicitly said he wouldn't do this. But I guess he figures he has nothing to lose.

There should be a provision in the Constitution that prohibits the pardoning of direct relatives. Biden is no different than a SCOTUS judge that doesn't recuse themselves from a case in which they have a conflict of interest.

“Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter,” he said. “From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department’s decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted.”

As far as Republicans passing anything on immigration that departs from the let's try to keep everyone out as much as possible philosophy, I'll believe it when I see it.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View Post
If they have their employer sign off on a temporary (nonimmigrant) work visa then you don't have to have a sponsoring family member. They may have to exit and re-enter in the proper way but that should have been done in the first place.
The GOP'ers control everything now so they have the chance to pass a new immigration bill as well as a voting bill (making things like voter ID the law of the land which has already been challenged in various states upheld by the supreme court). If it is a difficult process for agricultural and food service employers should talk to their congress representatives to get what they need so they can hire the temporary or permanent immigrate workers they need. If your representative is a Dem like mine then tell them to stop playing politics and get behind immigration bill. Remind them how how they lost the senate and the white house in this last election because they are not listening to what the people want.

LOL at Ted getting schooled by those who've dealt with immigration who know it's never as easy as 'sign off on a temporary work visa' and all those immigrants will be welcomed immediately into the working fold.

Then the employer becomes the sponsor and the employees are subject to and protected by labor laws.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View Post

I trust after thinking about that for a moment, you can understand why it's problematic.

Ted, that chart you posted is very MAGAesque, Note the arrow that says "Trump Leave Office." That is April of 2020. He left in January 2021 and during those nine months the inflow spiked dramatically as the effects of the COVID shutdown lifted. But Trumpers like you always overlook that inconvenient fact. Biden was lousy at stanching the inflow of the undocumented, but Trump did everything he could to stop the Dems' efforts to improve the situation. Trump cares only about fanning the flames and scoring political points. Your question, "Why would the administration go after undocumented agricultural workers/" is a good one, but they say they will. How else are they going to achieve their stated goal of "mass deportation" and the explusion of double-digit millions of hardworking people in industries where they're sorely needed. Shameful and devastatingly harmful. I take comfort from the fact that Trump is an incompetent manager and leader.
