JD Vance has made this statement many times but the Dems are focused on calling JD an election denier instead of the real issues that the American people care about... I kind of think these text bros are mostly concerned with the woke culture war stuff than most anything else. Their whole emoyee base is woke and it bothers them to no end. If Trump wins I pray Vivek has an influential position in his admin. He at least understands how bad economic nationalism is.

The cynical side of me believes most of these guys think once Trump is elected, they can lead him to more sensible policies. Bomb throwing and promising free stuff is apparently what voters in this country want (or at least both candidates think that's what they want). Yes, I think this is true. They're both trying to buy votes. It's hard to know how committed they are to their campaign promises, but some of them are off the wall crazy that it's hard to see them ever follow through.

almost all of them had to play cute with Trump’s base. They all played a version of ‘Trump or his policies were great but it’s time to move on’.Vance of all people would do the same. Peter Thiel's alignment with Curtis Yarvin and his politics are worthy of derision. Vance and Vivek were almost physically incapable of uttering criticisms of Putin. And when Vivek was running in the primary he spent every moment praising Trump.

All you have to do is listen to Vance and what he says about Ukraine and what he doesn't say about Russia. No need to find it silly to speculate Putin holds sway with MAGA world people. Recently you had those influencers busted when warrants were issued for Russians who paid dipshits like Tim Pool and Dave Rubin nearly half a million a month to carry their water. In Russian media, RT leaders have boasted about having hundreds of conservative influencers under their sway. That's different than Hannity making up shit about George Soros.

There is a stark difference between Soros and Musk. Musk has thrown himself into being a present and involved in Trump/s campaign as possible and his fucking with his own platform to do it.

Musk has sure aligned and amplified the messages and voices of those who support Putin and has been politically helpful to them. He did that shady voter fraud website and tweeted out AI altered clips of Harris. He's not above reproach. The Ukrainians sure don't care for him.

I get why the election denying is a dealbreaker for folks, though I think he does a decent job fence-straddling on the issue. I don't think he *really* believes it was stolen, otherwise he'd be a lot more vocal about it. It's unrealistic to expect him to contradict the top of the ticket so he'll keep getting asked the question.

He has already sworn he would do what Mike Pence refused to do on J6. He's not a good guy and he's not an unfairly maligned otherwise-textbook candidate.

Some fair points. On a tangential but related matter. do you believe Vance's total reversal on Trump was borne of principle? Could Thiel's influence (including the Thiel/Vance trip to Mar-A-Lago during Vance's turnaround phase) have had something to do with it? Shouldn't that be a cause for concern? I get that every politician acts (to varying degrees) out of self-interest, but I find Vance's extreme and sudden about face to be very disturbing.
