No. Just a typical Saturday. We are off every other Friday and usually play 36 that day and sometimes (usually) play 18 on Saturday. We were invited to play with a co-worker yesterday morning and then went to our home course later in the afternoon. We have a membership at our home course that allows us to play unlimited golf with cart on Friday-Sunday.

Golfcation is 8/30-9/8. Although we just don't golf, we sprinkle in a little fly fishing and football.

That sounds amazing. My dream vacation.

My golf game is the best it has ever been. If I hit from the ladies tees like BYU71 I would be in the 70s on a consistent basis. Because I am a grown man and hit from the tips my last 5 rounds are all between 80-82.

cj hits a little cut/fade, 71 hits low draw that rolls forever. If you play a course that requires carrying the ball junk's will go further, but if you play a typical hard-fairway Utah course, Senior 71 is sneaky long. DH and Santos, both flatout crush the ball when they catch it clean.

Golf Report.

39+44+42

Played with my son up from Provo. My back went out on the 8th hole, on the 18th hole I laid down and tried to pop it back, and I did. Played better, but got tired, and we limped in. It feels really good when you are golfed out. The highlight of the day was my son hitting the lip of the hole from 135, hitting the flagstick, and bouncing out. The edge of the hole got messed up, and I tried to make it better best I could. We played with a guy with a thick Aussie accent, and I asked him if was from Alabama. He laughed and said "Yes, Melbourne, Alabama." I thought that was a clever response.

I thought I had talked about our invitational in this thread, but I can't find it. Maybe somewhere else or I intended to.

3 day tourney. After the second day we were tied for the lead in our flight. I played as a 15 and partner a 20. First day I shot a 90 and he shot a 96 and yet we teamed perfectly for a 60. Second day I shot 84 and he shot 91. Both better, but our net was 61, yet the 121 was tied for the lead.

86 and a 93 next day but a net 66 and finished 4th. Calcutta we split 3rd place money and end up with $270 each instead of $2,000 each if we had won. Another 61 would have won it.

We both thought part of the problem was who we got paired with. Very, very nice guys but they weren't in the hunt. They were just having a good time and kept telling us our putts were good. No way would we take them, but I am not a real good putter when someone says, "that's good" and I still have to putt. Anyway, we had a good time, but what could have been.

I think playing further back makes your play more focused. I always play worse from White in our clubs Men's League than I do from Blue or Black. IMO your mind allows you to think I can easily get home from here or recover from a bad shot because we are so close and you lose concentration. At least that seems to be for me.

Nice low rounds. I was breaking 90/low 90s and then my last round it all went to crap. No control, pushing the ball, then pulling it. No feel. I'll have a week off before I play Monday, maybe the break will help as I had been playing a ton.

What has happened to you. Have I missed something? I know what it is like to start shooting in the 90's after being a consistent high 70's to low 80's player. I feel your pain.

Well, I'm now 54, and I can tell my muscle mass (strength) is on the decline. I did tweak my back, and couldn't get "through" the ball, and hit every thing right. My short irons used to be money, where my confidence in the swing was 100%, but now it seems that I'm guessing about my swing, and wondering how much is it going to hurt. I've noticed that last few rounds that I'm consistently short of where I was this time last year, meaning that I'd hit a shot on the screws, feel good about the ball flight, but get to the ball and be about 20 yards shorter than I thought I'd be. The PING G20's I bought last September haven't given me the "feel" I've been wanting. Yes, I hit them straighter, but they are a bit heavy and my swing speed has suffered, cause me to have to go a club up to get the distance. I had graphite shafted irons two sets ago, and I'm thinking thats were I need to be again. Maybe I'll just buy some +1" graphite shafts and redo the G20's myself.

Maybe the time has come to start fighting the aging tide with more effort on my part.

2 man best ball at Gladstan today. Net 27 on the front in a position to not only win but run away with it. Blew up in a big way on the back. Gross 45 in an effing two man best ball, net 37. Still won some money.
