Ogio Grom XX. It's a stand bag but works well in a cart.

If you want just a cart bag Ogio has several nice bags. You can pick up last season's gear at a discount on eBay. The old Grom bags are about $100.

      • This is my bag, a Ping Pioneer. It's the best bag I've ever had. If you have generic clubs, you may not want to promote a brand name bag though. My cart is a Clic Gear 3.0

Sun Mountain Bags are good as well, as they don't make golf clubs.

Playing tomorrow. Please don't pray too hard for rain... I'm already anticipating having to carry an umbrella for the odd possible showers.

        • I am getting really consistent at destroying rounds in the last 4 holes. Went double, double, quint (!), double this morning to blow up what should have been a low 90s round. Finished 47-52-99.

Playing Report. Men's Club, Saturday June 30, 2012.

            39+41=80

            1 Birdie, 8 pars, 9 bogies.

If you notice, I shot the same score as reported on Wednesday, but the rounds couldn't have been more different. I played great today, while the last round was decent. I was 5 over through 14 holes, and did the bogie dance into the club house. I was staring that elusive 78 in the face, and crumbled like Tiger Woods coming down the stretch. I was one over as I was putting a 4 foot birdie on the 8th hole. Putt was downhill, and I zipped it past, and got lazy on the 2 foot par coming back, and ended with a stinking 3 putt bogie from 4 feet. Ouch. On the day I had 10 birdie putts of less than 15 feet, with 4 of those less than 10 feet. I only made one of those birdies.

Shot of the Day- Great drive, 220 5 wood to the fringe of 15 a par 5. Looking at birdie if I can chip close. I flubbed the chip, nancied a putt, and missed the par from 3 feet. I went bogie, bogie, bogie, bogie to finish.

Played with Guy#1, a plus one, that shot a 68. He was OK to play with today, but he has the shortest fuse when he messes up. I probably heard the F word more from him than anybody in a long time. Guy# 2 had a better handicap than me, but shot a 90. He had a bad front 9, and had a two shot turn (vodka) and proceeded to be a happy drunk on the back.

The round was fun especially when I was in the hunt for a mid 70's score. Usually I'm out of the hunt early, and play decent coming in, but today I was hunting birdies and feeling good, and killed myself at the end.

            • Really strange watching congressional today with no one on the course. Really peaceful like a normal round. I wonder if the guys want it like this all the time.

I would say it looks like Tiger does.

We've had tornado warnings all night again. I doubt they let spectators on tomorrow if this storm is as bad as last night's. Church is canceled because our stake center is without power.

It's amazing how beautiful the golfing weather was today given the storms. God must be a golf fan.

Good Job... it must feel good to play so good.

I was this close >< to my 79 today. All I had to do was get a par 5 on 18. Dang.

It ended up being a pretty nice day here. They were calling for 100°+
today. If it got there it didn't feel like it.

                          • 7 pars on my last round. Shot an 88 without 1 birdie. Figured out the slice on the Driver! What a big difference that makes in the game. Now I just have to figure out that putter.
( FYI I most likely wrote that incoherently and will be properly corrected forthwith. Thanks)

It's amazing how much keeping the ball in play off the tee will help a score. Before his health problems set in, my dad was always around a ten handicap and he teed off with a 3 iron on every hole. He rarely lost a ball, and was putting for birdie more often than not.

I could remember that every time I step up to the tee and try to murder the ball, I'd probably knock 4 strokes off my average score.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. In my last 4 rounds...I have scored par on >90% of the holes that I have gone FIR.

If I don't hit the fairway, I am averaging a double.

                                Not good.
