Lol. How much did it cost you to re-upgrade back down to your old clubs?Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostVery nice, you wouldn't have wanted my i15's they are white dots.
Yes Donut I got them back. I went into the golf store, where the manager smiles a huge smile every time I come in, and got them back over the winter. They hadn't sold and so now I'm back to the Pings. I carded the worst round I've had in my adult life today. I started off par, bogey and was feeling like my lesson yesterday was really impacting my swing. Then everything went to crap. I couldn't hit a decent shot if falafel's life depended on it.
I stopped into the pro shop and signed up for another lesson next week. I've decided that I'm going to take golf seriously this summer, practice, take lessons, play rounds regularly. If I am not in the mid to low-90s regularly by the end of summer I am going to take a hiatus from golf for a long time and figure now isn't the time in my life for this pursuit.Get confident, stupid

I worked half a day and snuck in a quick round before a dr. appt I am now at. I shot a 92, but had 42 putts. My average is 35-36. I actually had a 5 putt on one hole. :embarrassed:

I would love to do what you're planning. I was at the range recently and wasn't very pleased with the results. Next to me a guy was getting a private lesson and I really wished it was me instead of him. I'd love to have a pro take a really close look at my swing, short game, putting, all of it. Good luck bro. I'm sure it will pay off.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Day one goal accomplished. Threw down a smooth 88. Smooth if you consider a double, double, triple finish smooth.Originally posted by byu71 View PostI have played about 8 times this year. Still struggling to get back to the old game. However, I am happy to report after 3 cortizone shots to the L3, L4 and L5 and I am feeling better than I have for about two years. Very minimal pain now and renewed energy.
I will be back down below a 10 handicap by the end of June.
First goal is to shoot in the 80's Friday and Saturday.

Played Old Mill for the first time on Thursday. Walked it and only played the front 9. Shot 52. Learning to play at WingPointe in the winter looks like it will play dividends. The game is much easier when you don't have high winds and frozen greens.
Best shot of the round? 5 wood for 200 yards to within 8 feet of the pin. Worst shot of the round? Driving my tee shot on the 1st hole into the fairway of hole 9. I couldn't have sliced it worse than that if I had tried. It is hard, especially when standing in the tee box, to swing smoothly and not try to crush it. If I try to crush it I end up with my club face open and a nasty slice.

Looks like you're back in good form. All you have to do is drop 3 shots and do it 10 times in a row, and you'll be single digits again.Originally posted by byu71 View PostMission accomplished. Threw down a 84 on Saturday. I might be coming back.
On Saturday my spending spree got out of control. I bought a new bag and cart to go with my new clubs. A black and white Ping Pioneer Golf Cart Bag (Black/White) and a Clicgear 3.0 pull cart. It's a shame that with all this new gear, ill probably still be a lousy putter, and won't even drop a shot. Buyers Remourse? Yes. Why does spending money suck the joy out of spending money?Last edited by clackamascoug; 03-12-2012, 01:15 AM.

Any recommendation on a bag that I can use to walk courses? I only have a cart bag but I would like to have a bag that i can carry on my shoulders while I walk the course.Originally posted by clackamascoug View PostLooks like you're back in good form.
