Not to mention RC, who'll probably say he's coming and then bail at the last minute for some pretend reason.

Don't cheat yourself! Davis Park's driving range is straight uphill. 215 yards is easily 245 on driving ranges with elevated tees (which most courses have).

      • I am in no matter when or where. Talons and T-pointe are very close to my house but I wouldn't mind driving up to Wasatch either.

I would say we could play Fox Hollow (formerly Tri-Cities) but if we started at 7:30 we would not be done until after kickoff. That might be the slowest course in the state.

        • I just want you all to know that I hate each and every one of you because I won't be able to join you (again). I hope you all three-putt every hole and shoot in triple figures.

But I have to ask, when is this? I don't want to burn any bridges if I can actually play this year.

Ha, you send regrets and condemn us to ineptitude (as if that were necessary), and then you ask the date? It's Saturday, September 17. That evening, BYU hosts some scrub team from the PAC-10 so it's going to be a fine day.

You really ought to participate. Senioritis and ColoUte have carried the Ute water, unassisted, for far too long.

Sept. 17th may be doable. I'll let you know soon if I can play.

As for condemning all of you, does it make you feel any better that it was done more out of spite and jealousy? I hope so, 'cause it's the truth.

I might have a little pull at Fox Hollow. However, that doesn't do any good for slow play. Is it slower than TP. That is the slowest track I have ever played.

                • I had a real shot at breaking 80 today. Short 39 on the front with a double bogey on #6. Was one over on the back through 14 with a stupid missed 3 foot putt for par on #12. 3 putt 15 for a bogey. Have a 100 yds in on the par 5 #16. I pull it and then shank the chip and ended double bogey. 3 putt seventen for a double bogey and par 18. I feel so close.

I am down to a 14, but plan on being a single digit by mid August.

The high handicap has been nice in building war chest, However, I want the single digit handicap.

                  • Played 18 with my two sons this afternoon at Murray Parkway. I shot an 87 (45 front and 43 back) and was happy with it, as it was only the 2nd time out this year.

My 12 year old son shot a 95. The lessons I got him in are paying off. He was proud of himself and should be. The 16 year old shot a 77. My only consolation in this is that he and his brother have been out at least a dozen times since school let out. He's never going to show the decency of not giving me a bad time about the 10 stroke win, so right now, as I sit in the air conditioned house, he's outside mowing the lawn and he'll do it to my liking, dammit!

77 at 16 years old? Does he play on the HS team? He is probably in range to get a chance to play college golf if he keeps getting better.

Also I'll never post about being happy shooting a score your 12 year old would laugh at.

Yeah, the 12 year old keeps reminding me that he'll be better than me soon. I told him that the difference is that he's got newer clubs than I do and if I get myself a new set of sticks, I'd embarrass him out there. He only scoffs at that.

The 16 year old didn't play on the school team. He wanted to, but couldn't find time to do it with everything else going on in his life. He mentioned that he may want to play next year. But he's one of those spur-of-the-moment kids, so who knows what he'll do next week, let alone next high school golf season.

He takes his natural ability to play sports of all kinds for granted. I guess I can't blame him. He's been swinging a golf club since he was about 4, but never wanted to really start to play until two years ago.

I'm just happy that this is something I can do with my boys for many years to come. It's fun to golf with friends, but playing a round with my kids is the best.

                        • Golf has been pretty good to me lately. I feel like I have stumbled onto something in my game and I am playing much much better.

My current SCGA handicap is an 18.3. That is my lowest to date.

                          My last 6 rounds:

                          89, 95 (first round from the blues), 88, 86, 94, 88.

High 80's seem to be much easier to reach now. The round where I shot 86 should have been in the high 70's. I did the following:

2 balls in the water on one hole, 1 ball in the water on another.. A 3 putt hole, and a 4 putt hole. Add that crap up and I had the round of my life. (Not my lowest, but by far my best.)

I am looking forward to the CUF tourney.

                          • shooting a 77 in hs will put him in the top five individual golfers in the state. screw mowing, get that kid to the driving range.

                            • I should have broken 90 this morning. Played Kayak Point with my FIL, shot a 95 with 4 doubles on the back. Very frustrating.
