Meetings in Scottsdale in January. I will likely come in a bit early and partake of some golf. Suggestions from locals and/or other players on courses would be very appreciated. I would like to avoid spending eleventy billion dollars if possible.

I played Valley View and Bountiful Ridge last week. Both were in great shape. But I won't be sharing my scores here either.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostYes! We looked for you at the Mandarin for dinner, but I guess you weren't at your usual table.Originally posted by old_gregg View Postbountiful ridge is a gemAin't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Depends on how much you want to spend. Glen Eagle is a lot of fun, but in January will probably be $200+ a round. If you want a chance to see Paige Spiranac and the cartbarnguys from Insta you can play the fun and affordable Papago right near the airport. Quintero is a little bit of a drive from Scottsdale but is a really fun course. There are a ton of fun resort style courses around Scottsdale though, Camelback, Phoenician.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostMeetings in Scottsdale in January. I was in Hawaii last week for my grandfather's funeral. My grandfather was quite the golfer and well known on the Big Island. The pro and GM at Mauna Kea through my cousin who is a manager there also hooked us up with a free round of golf and a huge luncheon with terrific food in my grandfather's honor.
On the famed 3rd hole we all lined up and hit a golf ball into the ocean for papa. I played with my dad and 2 of my uncles. It was a tremendous experience and we all joked and laughed that even though grandpa is gone he's still picking up the tab.

Apparently I left too soon because Hualālai treated my dad and uncles to golf and lunch as well."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

That's awesome. When I die (a long time from now, hopefully) I hope people hold a golf outing to celebrate my life. There's no getting around a funeral, it seems, but adding a golf tournament is a nice touch.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

That would be pretty cool. And everyone would be required to lose 10 balls in my honor.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostThat's awesome. I am going to have my ashes put in a bunker on number 13. That way my kids will visit the site more often.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostThat's awesome.
