  • Golf course drama. This lady hits her approach shot from about 150 out while the group ahead is still on the green. It lands within about 3 feet of one of the players so they putt if off the green. The lady goes berserk, claiming she was in the right because she yelled fore.

I would have done more than just put her ball off the green. I would have taken her ball of the green and hit it back at her. It would have been OK because I would have yelled (f)whore .

      • She probably hit a 3 wood 120 yards and it rolled up in front of someone. Golfers can be dramatic.

        • It was probably the best shot of her life, and she hit from 150 out because she thought there was zero chance of hitting it on the green. The people on the green should have marked her ball and then knocked it off the green. The female drama was just a bonus. My playing partner were once accosted by a raging female after her playing partner picked my my ball and I called him out on it. - Good times.

Looks like she is playing alone, I wouldn't blame anybody for not wanting to play with her.

I've been looking for a good deal on a two ball fang and bought one here for $107. Not sure I can give up on my Scotty but I need to try something different for those ten feet and in putts. Thanks

                      • USGA is changing the Dustin Johnson rule for 2017.

Effective Jan. 1, courses and tournament committees can enact a Local Rule that says if you, your caddie, your partner or your equipment accidentally move a ball or ball marker on the putting green, there is no penalty and the ball should be replaced.

This Local Rule, which was announced jointly by the USGA and R&A, also applies to your opponent or opponents in match play, the other side’s caddies and equipment.

“We’re golfers, too, and when we saw players penalized for minor movement of a ball on the putting green, it didn’t sit well with us,” says Thomas Pagel, senior director of the Rules of Golf and amateur status for the USGA. “I do hope people are excited about the change and it’s well received.”

Pagel added he could envision a time when this Local Rule becomes a permanent one—such as when the next revisions to the Rules of Golf go into effect in 2020—but “I’m not going to guarantee anything,” he says.

Better yet? The USGA said all major professional tours, and the Masters, have agreed to implement the Local Rule. Credit where it’s due: well done, USGA.

The next revision should be if you call in to complain of a rule being broken on a televised tournament you are mocked and publicly shamed for the rest of your life.

YES! What kind of egotisical a-hole wants to call in because he saw someone's ball wiggle? I don't get what is in it for the person who calls. I would publicly shame anyone I knew, if they ever admitted to doing something like that.

                            • My favorite golf rule is what I call the "Tiger Woods lost ball rule" for when you hit a ball that you can't find. If Tiger Woods would have hit that ball to the same spot, would someone in the gallery have found it for him? If so, then drop it where you thought it should have landed, no penalty.

The "leaf rule" is also a good one. In the fall if you think your ball is hidden under a leaf you get a free drop.
