Don't you have homeowners insurance. I ended up getting a whole set of new clubs, bag, balls, etc. when someone swiped my clubs. I think it was 250 deductible. That was pretty cheap for a whole set of new clubs.

Sweet, so your clubs are made by a computer brand too?

Did you (a) have to prove the value of your old clubs, and (b) did you have proof? I'm just wondering how I can have my buddy swipe my computer brand clubs and then tell my insurance company I actually had Callaway X-22s.

No, that was the odd part about it. They replaced the clubs, not the value of the clubs. I didn't have to get the same brand. They were actually a second set of clubs I had and had given them to my kid to use. They were swiped out of his car.

Just to report....DT and I golfed again last weekend. He killed me. He shot a 98 and beat me by 11. I had an absolutely terrible day. I had 8 triples and 1 quad.

I couldn't find my shot at all. It was embarrasing.

                I hope for redemption tomorrow.

It is kinda fund to get the updates on your ongoing battle.

Today besides playing in the regular group, our foursome is a grudge match foursome we play once in a while. My buddy that I always "hang the sheet" with, are a 8 and 14 handicapp going up against a 3 and 10 handicapp. We play a $25-$50-$25 nassau with $10 presses. We also play $10 greenies and birdies.

Today is blue tee day, so the 3 handicapp has an advantage. I suppose I will need to throw down a 76 or better.

                    71,

Explain how your betting system works. I have heard all those words before but don't really know what they mean.

We play .25 a hole, plus 5 a side and 5 total. So the most you could lose if you get absolutely smoked is 19.50. But that means you would have to lose absolutely ever single hole.

Hey...did I mention that I got a SkyCaddie SG5 for Father's Day? It just showed up this week. Will be busting it out tomorrow.

We play match play. Front nine is worth $25, back nine $50 and 18 is worth $25. Everytime you press, it starts a new bet from that point on.

If you lost every hole you would lose $100 bucks on the original bet and $160 on the presses. Of course that never happens. The worst it has ever been on this format was about $240. That was because of greenies and birdies too.

It sounds like a lot, but I have tracked the "betting" I do on the course for years. We play a game called the "investment" with anwhere from 20-40 guys in it. Like I said, my buddy and I also hang the sheet. My worst all time day was down $1,500. However, having tracked this througout all the years, I am about even and it works out to be about even each year. That is why I don't consider it gambling. Statistically I don't win or lose over the long haul.

Why do it? My focus is really, really good each time I play.

                          Interesting.

I play better with money on the line also.

Actually I play way better when I walk the course rather than take the cart. But it has been a tad warm as of late.

                            Redemption!

Shot a 100 even today. Beat a certain someone by 11.

                            I was hitting em straight.

I was using my new GPS toy and using it to track strokes and putts. I shot a 100...37 of those shots were putts. I need to hit the putting range, as I suck at it.

                            I ended up winning 16.50.

You had 37 puts? On 18, that's two puts a hole. If you can average a 2 putt, I would think you are doing just fine on the greens.

What golf betting games do you play? I saw 71 talking about his group liking to play Nassau bets. My usual foursome likes to play a version of Wolf. Any other good games you play?

Also I got my new clubs today. Stuck with the TaylorMade Burner driver, it was much cheaper this go round since it they have come out with later and greater versions. I had Ping i3+, but the big golf place in Eugene didn't have them anymore. I hit about 10 different sets and it came down to the Callaway X22s and the TaylorMade Burner irons. I settled in on the Callaway X22s, because they were $50 cheaper and I thought it was a roll of toilet paper move to be a crappy golfer and have matching driver and iron set. I am getting out for a couple rounds this week.
