Hard to find as in its location?

And yes, the green fees are reasonable. All public courses in Utah have reasonable fees as well. Golf is a great deal here.

    • Yes, hard to find as in location. The Tick and I drove around lost looking for it. We ended up in some really nice neighborhood near there. Funny thing is, it was the only course we could get on at the time, everyone else was either having a tournament or had no open tee times. Im glad we made it there. Beutiful course for sure.

If you get the chance, play it in October when the leaves have changed. Spectacular.

Just go to Springville and drive up the canyon. If you like Hobble Creek try the Mountain Course up at Wasatch State Park next time you are in Utah.

          • The 4 deer in the middle of the course was a nice touch also.

The group in front of us that didn't believe we were related were idiots. We pulled out our ID's to prove it.

We played the Lake course 3 years ago. We are going to play both courses this September.

We are going to do 36 if anyone is interested.

I yanked the tee shot so far left that after dropping, I couldn't go over the trees, so I had to practically chip the 3rd shot at a 90° angle to the green. I then pulled the ball into the trees again about 100 yards from the green. Drop again.

If I could have holed my approach, it would have been a bogey, but no, I put it long and left. From there I pitched it short and ended up just off the fringe. Two putts later and I'm drawing a little number 9 on the scorecard. Four over on one hole. Yuck.

Still, it better to play golf than not play golf.
Crap, you shot an 81 with a 9 on the card?!? That's some good golfin' man. two questions--A) are you coming to the CUF tourney and B)can I be on your team?

                • So my clubs were stolen outside the Edgewick Inn, in scenic North Bend, WA. My money is on some meth head trucker since my FIL and I were the only non-truckers at the place. Pretty depressing way to end the first of two 16+ hour days this week. Mrs. HFN is not pleased, she said maybe this is God or fate telling me not to play golf anymore.

Sixty players from each of Crimson Club and Cougar Club will square off on Wednesday, August 12 at Thanksgiving Point in a Ryder Cup style contest (two players from each club in a foursome).

As I will be busy riding Dumbo with grandkids, I'll pass. But I hope BYU71 will defend our honor in this critical contest.

I have committed though to play on Sat. in Sept. with my friends on this board. I will take my chances on a coup occuring that day.

Dude that sucks. I played another round of 18 yesterday on the same course. Someone might as well have stolen my clubs.

I was fighting my swing all day. Off the tee with my 3 wood and driver I was fine. But I just couldn't get comfortable with my irons all day. Same with my putter.

I guess the bright side is that whenever I replace them I will get a new driver and putter. It had to be the clubs not the swing right? I'll probably be in the low 80s with new clubs that know how to work better.

I tell myself that all the time. Unfortunately my driver and putter are the only two things that aren't knock-offs in my bag.

                          • I golfed Cedar Ridge in Cedar City this morning. Kind of a fun course, though some of the holes are a bit gimmicky. I was 5 over through 2 and ended up shooting an 83 (par 73), so I golfed pretty well.

That golf course, however, is only going to be around for a few more years at its current rate. The prairie dog problem is out of control! I don't think there was a single fairway that wasn't being torn apart by prarie dogs. On one hole, I crushed a drive down the middle only to watch it roll into a prarie dog hole, never to be seen again. Seriously, if the don't do something more than what they are doing, that course will not be servicable in another 3 or 4 years.

I missed this, so sorry for the late response.

                              A) I won't be able to play in the CUF tournament, as I believe that is the weekend of the Utah game in Oregon.

                              B) If I was playing, I would definitely want you on my team.

As for my score, I've always been able to play Hobble well, most likely because I've played there so many times I know the course. Had I had a 9 at a place like Bonneville, my score would have been pushing triple digits.

Dude, this is fate or God or whatever telling you you need a new set of clubs. Nothing more, nothing less. Someday I hope to be blessed by this sign from above.

It also means you need to play more, btw.
