Nelson promised an historical general conference and delivered:

- New symbol. Love it. I have always wondered why Moroni was used. I mean the guy is the cool but it's not his church.

- A solemn assembly. Yes, we mormons are weird and all my baptist friends are now sending me videos of people waving white handkerchiefs.

I think it was someone on here who called him Lego Moroni and it's been cracking me up the past couple days.

For a brief period of time, an Easter Egg in the Gospel Library app was discovered which turned the logo into Lego Moroni:


This was Not Approved, and it was quickly shut down. The app team may have gotten into trouble for it.

This is also the symbol used on markers for LDS serviceman in military cemeteries. Each faith has their own symbol as shown here. I've wondered if that symbol too would change, but I doubt it.

Conference was great. The Prophet and his messages were great.

Someone mentioned it earlier, but I think all the big changes out of the gate conditioned people to expect big changes ever 6 mo. That's not sustainable, or even advisable.

I still don't understand why the early changes were seen as "big changes."

I am but a humble heathen though, so I may just be missing it.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news - but the new handbook states: "Members partake with their right hand when possible."

However - it doesn't say anything about using a particular hand to pass the tray from one person to the next, so...#passwithleft!

Those who administer the sacrament should do so in a dignified manner, realizing that they are representing the Lord. The bishopric encourages them to ponder the Savior’s Atonement as they prepare, bless, and pass the sacrament.

Those who administer the sacrament should be well groomed and clean. They should not wear clothing or jewelry that might detract from the worship and covenant making that are the purpose of the sacrament. If the bishop needs to counsel a priesthood holder about such matters, he does so with love. He also takes into account the person’s maturity in the Church.
