To better serve members worldwide, the First Presidency has announced adjustments to Church magazines.


Beginning in January 2021, the Church will publish three global magazines: the Friend, For the Strength of Youth, and the Liahona.


These new global Church magazines will replace the current four Church magazines and will include improved and expanded digital experiences.

I wonder why they pander to the kids with that name? Could you imagine a magazine called "For the Strength of Adults." That would be off-putting. They should have gone with something like Teen Beat, or Teen Times. Top Ten Reasons - Jesus Loves You!

Or make the adult magazine for everyone be the Ensign (to the nations) and the youth's be the Liahona, and the children's be The Friend.

First you're a friend.
Then you're a guide.
Then you're proclaiming to the world.

Just because someone made a morality pamphlet with that name doesn't mean we need to stick with that branding, which, just as a reminder, is 55 years old.

Mostly I like the idea that the church publishes an adult magazine.
