Cue the internal screaming from the finance clerk who had to be present to handle the donations about how you can declare your status as full-tithe in October without needing to be 100% for the year and that you don't need to wait until you've cut a check in late December to declare.Originally posted by Donuthole View Post
Lots of people do. They see how much they've paid and how much more they need to pay to be a full tithe payer. I haven't ever done it this way, but plenty do.

I was a finance clerk when we did the whole thing in December - most of it the last week. I still remember somebody bringing in $10,000 in cash - random bills - that apparently they had gotten from financing a Christmas tree lot or something. We counted that three times to make sure we didn't make a mistake and couldn't wait to get rid of it in the deposit box at the bank.Originally posted by LVAllen View PostCue the internal screaming from the finance clerk who had to be present to handle the donations about how you can declare your status as full-tithe in October without needing to be 100% for the year and that you don't need to wait until you've cut a check in late December to declare.

Reminds me of the time that we were making the drop at the bank - but the depository was jammed with a huge cash deposit from the Chruch of Christ. I reached in to unplug the problem and pulled out a huge bag of cash - looked at it and the receipt said $7,856 cash and $12,000 in checks - so I adjusted or redistributed the bag - and it went through. Having cleared that - our smaller $4,000 deposit went through easy - then and felt bad that the Church of Christ was killing it - while we only had 1/5th of their weekly take.Originally posted by Scott R Nelson View PostI was a finance clerk when we did the whole thing in December - most of it the last week. Oaks announcement that he was asked to speak first and then RMN will speak to us later this session was a definite tell. The something he is up to is humanitarian aid-related, I’m guessing, based on Oaks’ talk.Originally posted by All-American View PostHe’s up to something.

I never really understood why you needed to skip the prayer to save time when you were actually making that class longer than it was before (primary excepted), but maybe I didn't understand the purpose.Originally posted by LVAllen View PostTwo hour church without a prayer at the beginning of the second hour appears not to have been inspired. The new direction is to pray at the beginning of the second hour classes.

What's this second hour you all speak of. I'll be at the semi-active year this year, making my ward when there's not an extra rehearsal.Originally posted by Clark Addison View Post
