I'm pretty sure I've made it clear where I stand on the literal Adam and Eve versus evolution narratives.

this is CUF, where pretty much no one believes in the literalness of the Old Testament. You are thinking of CB.

The poll has probably already been done in the past. Sure, most here don't believe in the craziest parts of the OT. But Adam and Eve?!? I'm willing to bet there's a few literal holdouts here.

Even in the literal narrative, the creation is followed by the following:

          1. Eve realizes the fruit of the tree is meant to make one wise: "and a tree to be desired to make one wise"
          2. Upon eating of the fruit of tree: "And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons."
          3. So Adam and Eve learned that it is wisdom to cover one's nakedness.

The evolutionary interpretation of this learned wisdom is way more interesting than the literal belief.

Haha. That is so true. Also, midwives and essential oils.

Definitely. Those poor unvaccinated kids need all the antibodies and other good stuff they can get out of the breast milk.

Agree! They are all over the place here, once you start looking.

Hunger strike puts more scrutiny on Mormon youth interviews

A Mormon man has launched a hunger strike to bring attention to a campaign calling on church leaders to bring an end to closed door, one-on-one interviews where youth are asked by adult lay leaders if they are following the religion’s strict rules on sexual activity.

Sam Young of Houston said he started his hunger strike on Friday and is in Salt Lake City holding nightly chats with supporters across the street from the Mormon temple. It marks the latest protest taken by Young and his group over questions asked during the interviews about whether young Mormons are following the religion’s law of chastity.

They did? I haven't heard of such a change.

If a youth desires, he or she may invite a parent or another adult to be present when meeting with the bishop or one of his counselors.

Hmm, we’ve actually had a number of youth choose it. Granted, it’s mostly the younger ones (deacons and beehives) but they aren’t the ones jerking off, yet.
