^^ stolen from replies to Kate Kelly's posting of this post. But really, beyond the logical fallacy of the premise, the ten points aren't even true, or at least have huge caveats.

Even if you're against female ordination, I would think you'd be wise enough to at least not defend it logically, out of the fear of becoming 2034's Mark E Peterson. There's at least a decent chance that women will be ordained someday and you want to go on record defending why they shouldn't? Just say it's not time and you don't know when or if it will be. Just dumb.

I just can't understand how anyone can argue that there isn't gender inequality in the LDS church, it's like arguing the earth is flat. Mormon Women Stand has as much credibility as the flat earth society.

It feels like most of the people who from 2000-2011 wanted the church to apologize for how racist they were in the past have forgotten about that and now want to ordain women. I'm curious what those same people will move to in 2022ish.

When I was Relief Society President in my ward, I remember making a decision which was extremely unpopular with the sisters under my care.

The Bishop could have told me to back off and stop making waves.

As a matter of fact, he came into Relief Society and basically reminded the sisters that I was in charge. He told them that they were going to have to change their ways and listen to my counsel.

The Bishop could have pulled rank and made it easier on all of us.

When I returned home, I made a call to the Second Counselor in the Bishopric who was over the Primary organization. I remember saying, “I know you are going to think I’m crazy, but . . . .” He listened attentively and then said, “Okay, if you feel that strongly, I’ll talk to the Bishop.”

Our little old lady did not accept the call because of her need to take care of her sick husband, but I was told that she sat and cried in the Bishop’s office and thanked him profusely for extending the call.

Both the Second Counselor in the Bishopric and the Bishop could have stopped me in my attempt to ask this sister to teach Primary.

Sure it can. The fact is you think giving priesthood to women would make things equal. But you obviously don't value the priesthood enough to respect its authority. So really even if they had the priesthood in your eyes nothing changes.

I'm not necessarily saying giving women the Priesthood is the only way to make them equal, I'm saying there is no way in hell that you can argue that currently there isn't gender inequity in the church. It is also only a step on a long process to fix the problem.
