I want to sincerely congratulate the WOW'ers on this board. When Elder Faust talked about revelation and said the father has it for the family, I thought this place would light up.
Nice to know everyone recognizes he meant, the husband receives revelation if the wife tells him he can.

So maybe the general women's meeting is not an official session of conference after all?
http://timesandseasons.org/index.php...o-women-count/Do Women Count?
[...]
The opening prayer Elder Bruce A. Carlson of the Seventy gave at the priesthood session referred to that meeting as the fourth session of General Conference (which means that the Women’s Meeting counted as a session). You can hear him say “fourth session” in this clip. However, if you go to the General Conference archives at lds.org and listen to the opening prayer, you will notice that they (whoever “they” is) mute the word “fourth.”
[...]
Update 10/10: I asked Public Affairs to comment on who was responsible for the edit and editing policies in general. This is the response they gave me: “While the women’s meetings have long been an important part of general conference week, they are not usually referred to as a session of general conference. Edits are routinely made to general conference proceedings prior to publication of the official record. In this case a simple edit was made by the conference producer to reflect the usual numbering of the sessions.”
Maybe they will make Elder Bruce A. Carlson record a new version of his prayer."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

I saw this yesterday and apparently the church have an explanation for it, which explanation was kind of ridiculous. Makes me wonder why they would go to so much trouble to edit the prayer. It's a meaningless edit. You'd think the correlation committee has bigger things to worry about.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostSo maybe the general women's meeting is not an official session of conference after all?

Maybe they will make Elder Bruce A. Carlson record a new version of his prayer."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

The response became (or: has the potential to become) a PR nightmare.sigpic
