It only took you 6 months to post. Welcome.

    • I learned that I have to sing in church in less than 3 hours, and I still don't have a song selected. I'm in trouble.

Oh man, you mean with all your other talents you also sing well enough that you're asked to sing in church? As I was reading your post I imagined you on your horse, wearing your Stetson, singing this. Don't know if they allow horses on the podium in Wyoming.

That's always been one of my favorite songs, but even in Wyoming they frown on horses in the chapel. Guitars, on the other hand, are perfectly acceptable, so that's what I will use as an accompanying instrument. I don't sing well enough for this, but I was asked anyway. My brothers and I were supposed to sing, but none of us had time to practice so they bailed on me and told me to sing something with my kids. "I Often Go Walking" got the nod, and as soon as my daughters finish getting ready we'll practice it again...it was pretty rough on the first couple of rounds.

          • Here's what cowboy should sing:

              • I learned my wife hates Mother's Day sacrament meeting more and more each year. Yesterday she openly scoffed at several statements made by the speakers (including the bishop) as they extolled the saintly status of motherhood.

                I married well.

                • We actually had one of the best sacrament meetings in some time yesterday. Three ladies spoke about their personal stories in the church (one about not having kids, another being a single parent, third about being a widow with raised kids), primary sang a couple songs. It was very good. It was interesting enough that at one point my 10 year daughter actually took her eyes off her ipad to pay attention to a speaker. I was impressed.

                  • I learned that 5 errors was the most the M's have committed in game since 2011. Oh well, nice day in the bleachers despite Farquhar giving up a 4 spot in the 7th to blow it.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

You think there's a coincidence that they lost and you went to the game??? Hmmmmmm???

                          • I'm learning all kinds of things in this past year. I now know why people turn down callings as I am first counselor to the Bishop and the things members expect out of the Bishop are mind blowing. Now I also see tremendous acts of kindness done anonymously that help change peoples life for the better which are great gifts but some people...
