I am fairly certain this is correct. I believe it was PG-13 at theaters and then as they often do with DVD releases, they added more material to the DVD bumping the rating to R..

Nowadays it is quite common for DVD's to be released as "Unrated" with a lot of additional material added in but back when the Matrix was released it was a relatively new concept.

I believe it was due to the fact that the Columbine shooters emulated Matrix, or something like that (Columbine happened my last day in MTC and I still haven't seen the Matrix).

It was rated R from the beginning. Never has been anything but R.

True story: I worked as a bank teller right after I got home from my mission, before I went up to school. One Friday afternoon, a fellow teller (very cute girl) invites me to go out with her and her friends. I asked where they were going. She tells me they were going to go to a couple of bars (she didn't know I was Mormon, by the way, and I don't think she even knew what Mormons were).

I then launched into an absolute tirade about the evils of drinking alcohol, and told her that anyone that does it must be completely stupid, and not someone I wanted to spend time with.

I'm still very embarrassed about that incident, even though I haven't seen that girl since that summer.

This is pretty grand. Still laughing at my brother's telling people to go to hell on his mission.

I can tell you an embarrassing story about DC. Okay, not embarrassing. Just annoying. Got back from his mission and every day at 5 am would turn on his Brazilian rock/pop CDs he'd brought back and let it blast through the whole house.

My story is the first time I "confessed" something to a bishop. It was right after my freshman year at BYU and I felt bad about kissing my boyfriend a lot. Yeah, that didn't last long.
what I am is what I am and I does what I does.

Dad told me growing up that the first girl i kissed should be my wife and the first kiss should be across the altar. I told him just because the first time someone would kiss him was in the temple, I shouldn't have to go through that horror as well. This from a guy who routinely dropped the f-bomb at the hint of anger. I still don't get it.

Apparently brother #2 (this one) took it to heart. We know how that turned out.

She was a recent convert and I played the whole faithful RM thing up. We never went out again and I felt really guilty, still kind of do actually. I remember going home and thinking I was on the fast road to hell (but that didn't prevent me from calling my last comp who still had 4 weeks left on his mission and bragging).
I did something similar, the second night I was home. Up until that point I had only kissed two girls, one makeout as a senior in high school and the other being my freshman girlfriend (who, on a side note, I sent a letter from the mission in an attempt to repent for lots of making out. That in and of itself is pretty embarrassing.)

Anyway the post mission girl was pretty frisky and tried to get me to take off my shirt so she could give me a massage. The fact I was wearing garments was my excuse. She argued some other RM hadn't minded, but I was persistent. I don't know if it is that embarrassing, but I certainly felt like I had dodged a moral bullet.

You made her kneel down with you, or is there another preposition that better describes the experience?

I raised my hand and said I had heard one of the brethren say you should kiss the girls you date in the same way you'd kiss your mother. I was serious. Every time I think back to that story I feel like a total dick.

                        What did he say?

As for my own embarrassments, while in the mission field I got a letter from a girl I had worked with pre-mission explaining that she had recently been baptized. I took it upon myself to explain, in writing, that her baptism was of no effect since it was not performed with the appropriate priesthood power and authority. I had my companion look it over to ensure it wasn't too pushy. She didn't write back.

                            Chump.

I tried watching the movie on the flight from Buenos Aires to Miami, but it just made the flight seem longer. Terrible movie, whatever it was.
