Finally! I was getting sick of being the lone Ogden defender in this thread.

You must have missed my contribution

For some reason it always reminds me of the Ivory Tower in The Neverending Story.

Crap! I did miss that. My apologies, happyone. As I previously stated, I wish that I had been able to convince my wife to have our sealing in the Ogden Temple, and for exactly the reasons you mentioned.

I posted my theory back in post 59. I had always heard it was the cloud by day/pillar by night.

In the MTC, the two most popular ones I heard:

            1. The MTC president is driving by the MTC "late at night" and sees all kinds of devils trying to get in....angels are fighting them to keep them out.
            2. Someone calls Provo Temple president in the middle of the night to tell him that a light is on in the Provo temple (not even sure which light is visible from the outside of the provo temple). The temple president instructs the caller to let it go. The Savior is inside the Provo temple and he is not to be disturbed.

Those kind of FPS really fueled my tank as a young missionary. I ate that stuff up. Don't get me started on shoe dusting stories. Those were always fun.

Anyway, back to the Mayan Temple discussion!
            Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

That okay, I'm quiet and unassuming and easy to miss

Although accourding to my parents who have worked there for 15 yrs, one of the reasons they redid the grounds a few years ago was to "increase marriage traffic".

With this redesign the Boise temple may move right to the bottom of pleasant looking temples. It's right off the highway and it looks like a large stake center.

It has a lot of company. The six-spire design was en vogue for a good 6-7 years, it seems. At least it doesn't have a black roof like the Vegas temple.

Chicago's the same, with the same black roof. We're in good company!

That kind of crap fueled me also. So...question. Knowing this sort of stuff is crap, and that there's a lot of it. But also knowing that crap in a lot of ways was instrumental in helping you grow up, mature, be a successful missionary, be a more responsible than avg kid...knowing that, do you steer you children away from it or do you allow them to go through it the same as you did? Question for all to answer.

Is it corrugated steel as well? That seems like such an industrial texture for a temple.

At the Vegas temple do they also pump oxygen into the building and make it difficult to find the exit.

I am pretty sure they pump gaseous tryptophan into the Las Vegas temple.

Just think of the architectural opportunities that were missed with that temple.
