I hope they are able to manage their success and maintain the flavor and friendly atmosphere.
    And prices.

Last time I went to the Holladay location, it seemed as though prices were already creeping up... Spicy rib was 5.18, I believe not 4.98 anymore... Still cheap, though.

      • Tried the honey glazed pork and the brisket pho sandwiches. They both were very good.

        • Friends tried to take us last weekend when we were in town. We went rather late and they were out of bread . So no sandwiches for us.

          • Sad news for my Utah County amigos. We dropped in to Oh Mai on 35th South State the other day and I asked the owner how the new Orem site is coming along and if they still plan to open in June. He said that it might not happen now because they can't get the lease finalized. The owners don't think their credit rating is strong enough. Still possible that it will happen, but not in the near future. Dammit.

Bummer! I've been talking that place up at my office and was planning on taking all of my guys to lunch there. Ah well, at least I live right by the Holladay location.
Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

              • Not sure if Bubba's has been mentioned here before. BBQ place on 21st South and about 600 East, north side of the street.

It's slightly unconventional, but I think that makes it a nice BBQ change of pace. The brisket is seasoned with rosemary and garlic. It's shredded rather than sliced, and it is delicious. I also like the Asian coleslaw.

Bubba's has been mentioned a time or two. I'm surprised you didn't see half the board there.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Are you thinking of Bam Bam's? Also a good place, but that's in Orem.

Nice, dude. Didn't realize you were coming for your b-day. It's a cool place. Food is good, obviously, but it's quite the experience as well. The valets, the building itself, the views, the dress code...all that.

This was one of the most oft-photographed locations, by missionaries, in my mission. It's a little town about 40 miles east of Munich. Missionaries would waste remarkable amounts of money and time to get that shot...

                            • My wife and I went to Naked Fish last night, and it was absolutely delicious. One of our Japanese friends said that this was her favorite sushi restaurant in Salt Lake, so we had to give it a try. Since it was our first time, we tried a lot of different things: rolls, nigiri, sashimi, tempura, hot and cold plates, etc. Everything was enjoyable. The best was their lamb. It was cooked medium-rare and had a light vanilla honey glaze. The lamb just melts in your mouth. All of the fish we had was perfect, and I even liked the eggplant tempura (which is notable because I really don't like eggplant). The portions are kind of small, but it was definitely worth it. Next time we go we're going to make reservations for the chef tasting menu.
                              Not that, sickos.

I'm thinking of giving it a shot tonight. They get excellent reviews, but it's not close to me so I'd rather not go unless I'm confident it will be good.
