Is Cafe Pierpont that supposedly Mexican place? I'm pretty sure I had a burrito there once that was just awful.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

You have your Cafes mixed up. The only supposedly Mexican place in Utah that starts with Cafe is .... never mind.

Speaking of good Mexican eats in Utah...most have probably checked out Lonestar Taqueria in Ft. Union. The fish burritos are fantastic (except when it's cod, and that's still decent).

The free jazz band the night we were there was awesome also.
Was it free jazz as in the jazz music you were listening to was free, or was it free jazz as in they were playing the style of music. If it was the latter, the place has become even better, but I fear that it is was simply a jazz band playing for free. Of course, jazz musicians who play free jazz often have no choice but to play for free.

To those criticizing the Pie you need to order the cheese pull-a-parts. Most the time I do not even order pizza there anymore, but the pull-a-parts are amazing. Also, if you do order a pizza the key is to get it with smoked gouda on it.

As for must eat places in SLC, I realized when I was living in Portland that the place that I always had to go to when I came back to Utah was the Greek Souvlaki for a gyro and one of the Crown/Astro/Apollo Burgers. A lot of this may have been because you just couldn't get a good gyro or a burger in Portland. I would also add Settebello to the list if the day comes when I move from Utah.

One of the best burgers I've ever had was in PDX. My guess is you can get both.

Oh good call. They did this pumpkin shake during the holidays that was phenomenal. Compared favorably with the Pumpkin Concrete at Nielsens Frozen Custard.
Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

Several months ago, foyero recommended some greek dive for gyro and souvlaki. It was really good. DOn't know if that is the place he recommended, though.

Oh man, I remember eating at "The Souv" a few times a week when I worked downtown. Great gyros. Yanni's Greek Express is good too but Greek Souvlaki is tops.

                            • Yes it was the Greek Souvlaki that fiyero recommended. The Mad Greek is also comparable.

                              • So MarkGrace has inspired me to find a great gyro in Portland next time I am back. I will be trying this place, the next time I am in Portland.
