exactly.Originally posted by filsdepac View PostI don't know them all, I just got the $60 game itself, nothing more. I saw a $100 version that includes map packs, but even if you consider 3 map packs at $15 per, that's a savings of $5, 6-7 months from now.I'm your huckleberry.

I assume they are making more than three DLC. From http://www.callofduty.com/elite/whats-included it says "Automatically get new MW3 in-game DLC content monthly, throughout the nine month season."Originally posted by filsdepac View PostI don't know them all, I just got the $60 game itself, nothing more. Game is $60. IF there are to be 9 DLC available for free with the ELITE membership at $15 a piece thats a saving of $95.

That price also includes COD Elite, which is $5 month. So you get the game, $60, plus Elite $60, plus 4 (planned, IIRC) DLC at $15x4. So you are getting $180 woth of stuff for $100. It'll basically pay for itself by the time the first or second map pack comes out.Originally posted by filsdepac View PostI don't know them all, I just got the $60 game itself, nothing more. Good catch on the 9 DLC. Very nice!Originally posted by FlynHawaiian30 View PostI assume they are making more than three DLC. From http://www.callofduty.com/elite/whats-included it says "Automatically get new MW3 in-game DLC content monthly, throughout the nine month season."

The link flynn provided says elite is free? It's $50 to upgrade to premium so you'd potentially save $85 if you normally would've downloaded everything.Originally posted by atheistcougar View PostThat price also includes COD Elite, which is $5 month. My fear is that DLC does not necessarily mean map packs but will probably be something I don't care about. Plus, over 9 months, not sure that clears my IRR hurdle but I'll throw it in the model.

I wonder if they'll be $15 a piece, though. I bet they'll be doing the usual number of extra maps at the same overall cost, but it will be spread over 9 months.Originally posted by FlynHawaiian30 View PostI assume they are making more than three DLC. Some of Elite is free, not all of it. Activision doesn't want to cross the bridge of making people pay to play. It's not 9 separate pieces unless you get elite. The new maps will be released 9 times to people who pay for elite, but only 4 times for people who don't at $15/piece. You also get some other stuff like more storage space for theater mode and tournaments.Originally posted by thesaint258 View PostI wonder if they'll be $15 a piece, though. If you're getting the game and usually get the map packs I don't see why you wouldn't get elite. Plus, if you get the hardened edition it only costs you $40 instead of $60/year since it's included in the hardened edition.

7 days until MW3 (assuming a 12:01 AM pick up on 11/8).

Yes, they want to, but like I said not yet. There will be a lot of backlash if they did it right now. The first step is Elite. I wouldn't be surprised if MW3 is the last COD that is free to play.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostYes they do. In a major major way.Don't worry about people stealing your ideas.
