"Be a philosopher. A man can compromise to gain a point. It has become apparent that a man can, within limits, follow his inclinations within the arms of the Church if he does so discreetly." - The Walking Drum
"And here’s what life comes down to—not how many years you live, but how many of those years are filled with bullshit that doesn’t amount to anything to satisfy the requirements of some dickhead you’ll never get the pleasure of punching in the face." – Adam Carolla
Here is a great Christmas song. I have liked everything the Sezter Orchestra has ever done, I think.

With all due respect to those feeling otherwise, if I never, not once again, in the entire time allotted to me in this mortal existence, hear The Little Drummer boy or DO you hear What I Hear, I will be just fine.

It is hard for me to feel the Spirit while listening to that.

I've heard the Eurythmics abomination of "Winter Wonderland" half a dozen times in the past week after never having heard it before and I can't stand it. It has quickly jumped near the top of Worst Christmas Songs Ever for me.
If you like sacred choral music, this one's great:

Here are the lyrics, which I've committed to memory and recited in many a talk and private Christmas gathering:
What Sweeter Music
What sweeter music can we bring
Than a carol, for to sing
The birth of this our heavenly King?
Awake the voice! Awake the string!
Dark and dull night, fly hence away,
And give the honor to this day,
That sees December turned to May.
Why does the chilling winter’s morn
Smile, like a field beset with corn?
Or smell like a meadow newly-shorn,
Thus, on the sudden? Come and see
The cause, why things thus fragrant be:
‘Tis He is born, whose quickening birth
Gives life and luster, public mirth,
To heaven, and the under-earth.
We see him come, and know him ours,
Who, with his sunshine and his showers,
Turns all the patient ground to flowers.
The darling of the world is come,
And fit it is, we find a room
To welcome him. The nobler part
Of all the house here, is the heart.
Which we will give him; and bequeath
This holly, and this ivy wreath,
To do him honour, who’s our King,
And Lord of all this revelling.
What sweeter music can we bring,
Than a carol for to sing
The birth of this our heavenly King?

For those in the mood for a very sweet version of a traditional Christmas hymn, I just listened to the MoTab Choir's "Away in a Manger" from their "Sing,Choirs of Angels!" album. It is really wonderful, and even got me a litlte choked up sitting here at my desk at work. (That's not easy to do.) Mack Wilberg has done wonders with that bunch.

Here's the YouTube. The orchestral accompaniment is what I liked most.
