The Christmas Song Thread

That time of year again. Since we are on a new board this year, post your favorites, new and old. I will start it off with one that has been in my Christmas playlist for 4-5 years. The video is great!

The video has nothing to do with the song, but One Christmas Catalogue by Captain Sensible is a great tune.

Good songs. Just like Christmas has been in the playlist for a while. I had forgotten about one Christmas catalogue, thanks. Since we are slowing down here is another of mine.

I couldn't find a video, but this is a free listen.

Ah! The Pogues. I can still sing this one, word for word, even in the drunk tank.

Lots of great new Christmas music this year. Here are a few things:

Not everyone likes Jack Johnson but his take on Someday at Christmas is great. My favorite of the year so far.

Also a relatively new song from the Weepies called All That I Want:

Finally for anyone who is remotely a Sufjan Stevens fans, his Christmas album from 2006 is really, really cool from top to bottom including more of the "sacred" Christmas songs. Among them Holy, Holy, Holy is the best.

                        I love Sufjan.

We went to see him when he came for Come on Feel The Illinoise. He performed with a full orchestra. It was amazing stuff.

My son (age 18) introduced me to Jack Johnson. (Hey, I introduced him to James Taylor, and he's still listening.) Good stuff. I even have him on my iPod for workout times.

I bought this Sufjan Stevens CD set for my son for Christmas.

Is anyone here old enough, or enough of a music geek, to like choral music? If so, anyone hear like to listen to and sing John Rutter arrangements?
