YO with the snark. Typical.
I'll just come out and say it LAU. The Piano Guys suck. They are the opposite of awesome. (Sorry, just being honest.)You're actually pretty funny when you aren't being a complete a-hole....so basically like 5% of the time. --Art Vandelay
Almost everything you post is snarky, smug, condescending, or just downright mean-spirited. --Jeffrey Lebowski
Anyone can make war, but only the most courageous can make peace. --President Donald J. Trump
You furnish the pictures, and I’ll furnish the war. --William Randolph Hearst

I know both of them - Jon (piano) and Steve (cello). Both are great guys but I don't really like the music. My wife and I went to a concert of theirs at Red Butte last year. I guess it was being filmed for a TV show, or something. What that meant is that we had to sit through each of the songs several times to make sure they got the right take. Not my favorite concert.Originally posted by Walter Sobchak View PostYO with the snark. Typical.

Their Xmas album is pretty blahhhh. I'll give them props for "Angels we have heard on high" which was well done. I also think their rendition of "O come, O come Emmanuel" is probably the best I've ever heard as they've beautifully mixed around with the piano and cello and kept if very simple and pure. However the rest of the album seems thrown together without much attention to the details to the arrangements as they basically seem to do the same thing to every song.Originally posted by Walter Sobchak View PostYO with the snark. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I wasn't being snarky. I actually think they're really good. I don't really listen to piano music much (except for Yanni at the Acropolis) so I don't have much to judge them against, but I think it's cool they can use string and make a piano sound like a violin. I also think it's cool that Jon Schmidt can be so goofy looking and yet still be a popular musician.

Hostile, I'm going to figure out who you are one of these days. I figured that you knew Mr. Nelson from high school, but the fact that you know Mr. Schmidt as well (who's much older) makes me think you grew up in a specific neighborhood.Originally posted by hostile View PostI know both of them - Jon (piano) and Steve (cello).
