lol this hit home. My oldest brother, who is really smart and charismatic and could have done something meaningful with his life, is some kind of MLM guru guy. I'm not really embarrassed of him, but it does make me melancholy.

It certainly takes a lot of smarts to do what they do. These aren't dumb people.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

You got that right. In another lifetime I was the lead DBA for a successful MLM in Utah. One day I was bored and ran queries on how many distributors earned more that $50,000 in a year. This company had over 100,000 distributors throughout the world, and there were less than 200 that were earning more than $50,000. There were a handful at the top, many of them family members, who were basically printing money. It's a sleazy racket.

In the episode I watched, they said in the Young Living MLM, 96% of the associates make less than $1 per month. The whole thing is largely driven by the $100/mo minimum that people have to spend. Sleazy as hell.

For those who have not yet seen the 2 seasons of Cobra Kai. They get dropped into Netflix tomorrow.

You are in for a nice binge treat.

Season 3 looks to be another great addition and from what I can only assume. Looks like Chozen makes an appearance..

I love that they are rebooting this. Chef's kiss- level nostalgia for me. Chozen was such a badass-- totally thwarted the Crane Kick, but, like most Bosses, he did have a vulnerability of his own-- that of the vaunted Drum Punch, drawn from the child's toy. Since he had numbed himself to childish notions in his quest for badass-ness, he never saw it coming. Ouch!!

MLMs are way sleazy but the essential oil MLMs are the absolute worst. At least NuSkin and Amway pitch horribly over-priced but functionally usable products with their sleazy business model. Essential oils, though, are pure snake oil with zero utility so the MLMs that pitch them are the worst of the worst.

Not true. Some of the oils smell terrible, producing negative utility.

Lots of interesting footage about the early Atari and then NES games. It'll bring a nostalgic tear to many here, I'd expect. Episode Two includes Jeff Hansen who became a Nintendo World Champion and later served an LDS mission (to Tokyo, naturally). Recommended.
The hansens were in my stake growing up. Jeff is freaky smart.

                      • I suspect this board could put together a video about pitmasters, BBQ and smoked meats that would rival this, but I'm looking forward to Chef's Table BBQ that airs Wednesday.

                        • I'm a few episodes into the 2nd season of Cobra Kai after just watching the 1st season and am enjoying it.

I dare say it is a pretty good representative of our current divide in the US. And they hinted that that is what they were going for with the immigrant comments that Johnny Lawrence makes.

On one side you have the brash, damaged leader who's trying to help make things better but screwing up a lot along the way.

On the other side you have the successful leader who often proclaims the moral high ground but in action often "goes low."

Everyone believes they are in the right, while obviously both sides have their flaws. Sometimes you think they will be able to overcome their differences but something always comes in the way.

The nostalgia and references to the original movies are helpful too.

                          Pretty enjoyable so far.

I'm also taking some time to watch High Score with my 12yo son. He has watched several documentaries on Video games on Netflix and YouTube, so he knows most of the information, but we are both still enjoying it.

I'm watching W1A right now, a pleasant enough satire about the bureaucracy of the BBC. I think PAC would appreciate it, not only because it features Hugh Bonneville's always impressive acting chops, but also his urban biking skills and impeccable fashion sense.

I'm three episodes in. It's beautifully shot and the visuals make my mouth water. The stories are fascinating. The Lennox Hastie episode captivated me and I started looking at when Australia opens up. Truth be told the first three episodes were all great and I want to visit each establishment.
