i dont care if I have to wait a few days for an update. I was worried that the device would be wiped clean. As it turns out, basically nothing has changed for me from an hour ago. That suits me fine (except for the B12 situation)

Yeah, I think it must be some step where it needs to connect with the server (even though the download is complete at that point). Several users saying it eventually works if you keep trying.

Must have been a server issue. I kept trying and it finally went to completion. I am fully updated!

Was your iPad empty? Mine is. I saved everything before updating, but what a major PITA to go back and load things back up to the iPad.

No. Everything was completely restored. What do you mean by "load things back up"?

I backed everything up before going through the update. When the update finished my iPad had 58 gigs of free space and everything but my e-mail settings are gone. Unless there is an easier way that I'm unaware of, I'm going to have to reload everything.

Mine did something similar. I tried this afternoon once JeffLebowski gave the green light. I received a weird error message and then I looked at my iPad and it was wiped. I tried to restore but it wouldn't work. An hour later, I rebooted my computer, unplugged all the USB devices, then plugged in my iPad to iTunes. My iPad turned back on instantly and was restored to normal without syncing. I unplugged it and am content to wait until the media reports that all is well.

I did this and it didn't come back. I'm having to reload things. Which brings me to my next question. How does one utilize iCloud? I must be doing something wrong because I don't see anything on my iPad that should be in the Cloud.

Something is big time wrong. When I restarted after the update it walked me through a series of steps to set up my iCloud account and some other new settings.

It did that for me also. But once set up nothing was visable.
