New iPhone

Received my iPhone 4 today. Just starting to mess around with it.

Let me know how you like it. My AT&T contract is up soon and I'm debating whether to go with the new iPhone (I currently have the 3G, not even the 3GS) or go to something completely different like the Droid and just get a shuffle for my music. I like my iPhone but hate AT&T's coverage and service - Verizon was light years better.

I will if they will activate it today. So far I have been able to do everything but have AT&T activate the service which may not happen until midnight.

I missed the pre-order because of all the madness, so I get to go on a search for mine tomorrow after and before work. I'm not planning on having much luck. ios 4 for the 3g is absolute crap, and I can't wait to get a new phone so I can unload this one on some poor sucker who doesn't realize the new os slows it to a crawl.

I bet if you decide to go with the iphone 4 at&t will let you have an early upgrade. Thats what I'm doing.

Yeah, it was the same for my wife's 3G. My 3GS seemed to accept iOS4 fine though.

The new phone is rad. My dad is getting a EVO tomorrow, so I can compare the two. This phone has a ton of potential.

I read that AT&T isn't doing sales in their stores until the 29th to help them get caught up. I also read that Best Buy isn't going to have many phones in each store. I don't know if that applies to Walmart and Radio Shack too, but it seems like there won't be many in the stores due to the overwhelming pre-order.

Are any of you new iPhone 4G owners on this board seeing the reception issue that is being reported:

Apple usually does pretty good testing of their stuff so I have to wonder if this owner in the video has a lot of iron in his blood or something.

I am getting ready to upgrade my 3GS to iOS 4.0 now the new jailbreak is out.

I have nothing against iPhones except that one has to use AT&T. For that reason, I do not have one. Aristides got me the Droid Incredible for Mother's Day and I love that phone and love Verizon's coverage. My calls are never dropped. The only time I have ever lost service was on BART, and then only as we left the West Oakland stop and went underground, er water.

I always hear rumors that the iPhone will be available to Verizon customers, that its release is on the horizon, but I have heard that for over a year now. I'll believe it when I see it.

I've been trying to recreate this issue all morning with no success, although apple did release a statement acknowledging the issue. Maybe I hold it different because I'm left handed or something. I don't think it will be that big of deal though.

I just found out that if you call 1-888-FaceTime you can talk to an apple employee who will walk you through all the FaceTime features. It seems like a nice way to try it out for anyone without anyone to try it with.
