Yeah it is. In fact, this movie is 3D rendered- clearly not 2D like the Little Mermaid or something, but it seemed 2D if that makes sense. It didn't jump off the screen as much as some of the other Pixar selections.

Watched that based on the recommendation on here, really enjoyed it. I was hoping they'd release more episodes before the pilot premiered.

          • The Big Empty - John Favreau is asked by his weird neighbor to deliver a suitcase to a guy named "Cowboy" in Baker. Strange things happen. Ending is a bit mystifying. Watched it out of curiosity, having spent some time out that way years ago. Not a bad movie, but probably not worth the time. Feels like it's aiming for a David Lynch vibe, but doesn't quite get there.

            • The Wizard. Beau Bridges really nails the father who got hooked on video games. Fred Savage put in his usual solid performance (though I would have preferred a little narration to fully understand what he was really thinking). As for stealing the show, it was a tie between Super Mario Bros. 3 and Christian Slater.

I thought the story fell a little flat, and that I didn't love any of the characters like I did in some of the better Pixar movies. But still, I couldn't prevent the salty secretions from my eyes in some of the more tender moments. Whatever algorithm those guys use to portray some of life's universal touching moments, it sure works.

How to rank it DDD? I sift Pixar movies into terciles. For me, Inside-Out is hard to pigeon hole. I'll say it straddles the 'excellent' and 'average' terciles.
Definitely outside the top tercile. Squarely in the middle of the middle tier, IMO.

                  • Watched Aloha at the Water Garden. I don't care what anyone says-- I loved it. I loved what Cameron Crowe said in it. I love how authentic it felt. I loved Bradley Cooper's acting. John Krazinski, not so much, but with that character he was bound to fail unless he was a much much better actor.

Not as good as The Descendents but still good. I am sad because there is no one whom I can discuss the movie with because it was so universally panned. Everyone hates it or is bored by it except me. I think it was an anti-movie movie.

                    • We saw Inside Out, I enjoyed it but was bothered by the fact that the mom had all females in her head, the dad had all males, Riley had a mix. I joked that maybe Disney was making a trans statement. Lack of continuity bothered me.

Did you think the mom had a pretty decent butt in some of the shots?

                        • Ex Machina - Very good and entertaining...but predictable...which isn't bad. The acting was solid, the robots were hawtt and the concept was well done for the most part.

                          • Ant Man...I liked it way more than I thought I would. Paul Rudd was good. Michael Pena steals the show though.

But I have liked most of the Marvel movies since the first Iron Man.

If you liked Guardians...you will like this one.

Saw it last night with my son and liked it. Some nice comedic moments and some interesting (non-explosive) special effects.

It's a darn shame that Ant-Man will now be in one of those crappy Avenger movies.

I like the Avenger series. First one was good...second one was just okay. But I enjoy the genre and the movies for what the are.
