There's not a single thing wrong with either of the things you watched.

Also, "man cards" are not a thing. Watch/listen/do what you enjoy doing, and fuck wherever it fits in some bullshit gender construct.

    • 21 Jump Street.

I admit the trailers intrigued me, but after seeing them for about the 5th or 6th time, I was thinking just another dumb sophomoric movie based off an 80s TV show -- like the Dukes of Hazzard or something like that. And I never watched 21JS when it originally aired.

But lo and behold, it got a fairly high freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes. So I checked it out. And it is hilarious. Be forewarned, this movie earns every bit of its 'R' rating. And while "back to high school" plot driven movies are cliched and predictable, 21JS delivers enough unexpected twists to make you forget you're watching a back to high school flick.

This ain't Talledega Nights or Borat funny, but it's pretty close. The theater I was in was about 85 percent full and it was howling pretty good at a lot of the scenes.

We thought about seeing it last night but saw something else instead (Friends With Kids). We'll probably hit it next weekend.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Just made my wife watch it since she'd never seen it. So awesome.

          • Just got sneak preview tickets for Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. This is exactly my kind of movie, and I am hoping it is very good. Emily Blunt, Ewan MacGregor and Kristin Scott Thomas.

Saw a trailer for it this weekend. Didn't look very good, but you'll have to let me know. I'll probably see it, though most likely on DVD.

I have mixed feelings from the trailer. The scene where MacGregor walks into a door, followed by Blunt's giggling about it as she walks off, looks a bit too precious for me. But I have a lot of respect for the actors, esp. KSThomas, so I'm hopeful that was just an anomaly.

I'd go see it in any case, but Mrs. PAC is really looking forward to it so I was able to leverage my faux-reluctant attendance into an agreement whereby she'll go see 21 Jump Street with me.

                • True to her word, my wife accompanied me to see 21 Jump Street, a raunchfest that had even her LOLing a lot through the movie, although as we walked out she said, "Too bad I can't recommend this to anyone." I never watched the TV series, but I'm certain those who did will find one particular scene very funny. If you like raunchy comedy, you'll like this one a lot; if you don't, you won't.

                  • Wow. Just saw 21 Jump Street. So hilarious...so unbelieveably hilarious. Funniest movie since Superbad, but not quite as raunchy. Probably only 1/2 as raunchy, but not a date movie nonetheless.

21 Jump Street Tv series DVDs are in high demand on Black Friday at Target. When people realize the $10 pancake griddles are gone, they go for the 21 Jump Street DVDs marked down from $10 to $5.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

But if you're lucky, your wife is commando.

                          • Fluff review for a specific market

A modern retelling of the classic fairytale, Mirror Mirror does for Snow White what Drew Barrymore's Ever After did for Cinderella: recast it's princess as a feisty independent spirit who still hasn't lost her compassion along the way.

She meets up with the handsome prince played with smashing brit-style handsomeness by Armie Hammer, who most recently played the Winklevoss twins in The Facebook movie. He does a good job of playing royalty again, a gentleman with an equal touch of imperiousness and naivete.

Snow White is played by Lily Collins, daughter of Susssssudio Phil. She's quite the ingenue, despite the distraction of those two black catterpillars reclining astride her eyesockets. According to IMDb, her trademark is her thick eyebrows; I just wanted to hold her down and trim those furry growths. Director Tarsem Singh has a plan though, and it all becomes apparent as she transforms over the course of the movie into Audrey Hepburn. Such a beautiful girl.

Watching Julia Roberts play the evil queen, I wonder if she enjoys playing the nasty role as much as I enjoy watching her. So much fun to boo her and watch her mean machinations come to naught. The costumes were gorgeous, the sets ornate, and the seven dwarves in a fresh perspective. A fun bit of frivolity for 90 minutes of your life.

                              Great review! Funny stuff.

Two movies I finally got around to seeing:

Warrior: this was great -- really enjoyed it. The 2011 version of Rocky and I felt the same way I did after I saw Rocky for the first time as a kid.

Tower Heist: really disappointing. The idea had a ton of potential and they could have done so much more with it.

                                Exciting French thriller.

                                "Sherlock Jr"

Really funny Buster Keaton silent film. I really enjoyed it.
