"Sure, I fought. I had to fight all my life just to survive. They were all against me. Tried every dirty trick to cut me down, but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch."
Saw MI: Ghost Protocol last night. Solid movie. A little more screw-up humor than I would have liked, and the finale was far too "we are family", but Jeremy Renner was a great addition.
A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."
Saw "We Bought A Zoo" today. Sweet but not too sweet, witty/funny, a little bit manipulative but not too much. (Cameron Crowe wouldn't do that consciously. Would he?) Characters you end up caring about who actually develop. Matt Damon shows some additional range and so does Scarlett Johansson, in a pretty non-glamorous role. My wife and daughter loved it. Definitely worth seeing.

I watched this last night as well. Very, very well done. I could see a best actress and two best supporting actress nominations coming out of this film.
"They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.
Saw "War Horse" a couple of nights ago. Worth seeing, very Spielbergian. Will probably be nominated for cinematography and some music awards.

Saw Man on a Ledge a few nights ago. A little bit of escapism with something for everyone. Which makes it a little unfocused, but every time I started to yawn, they send the cameras rolling over the ledge and everybody gasps anew. So it kept my attention.
My favorite characters are the bro and the bro's girlfriend. Remember the two brothers from Utah in Oceans 11/12? The kibitzing (good wood Happy) duo who harangued each other constantly as they carried out their part of the caper? Well they've recast these two characters as a man/woman duo here. The female had altogether too many fake booby shots, but I liked her sassy latina persona.
Terrible movie. I left convinced that Hollywood had finally decided to let an 8 year old pick the next movie theme. I was angry that I didn't leave the theater.

I agree on the cinematography
I thought the scene where the british cav is coming through the wheat fields was exceptional.
I may be small, but I'm slow.
