    • "Barney's Version"

Funny and surprisingly touching retrospective on this guy's life (played superbly by Paul Giamatti). I really enjoyed it.

      • How did I go this long in life without seeing The Dirty Dozen? That oversight has been corrected and I am a much better person now.
Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

          • Watched Pirate Radio. It's got language and other parts that you might not prefer to show in all company, but it was fun movie and very entertaining. A great cast of actors and -- as it should be since it's about pirate radio in the 60s -- it had a great soundtrack to it.
I have nothing else to say at this time.

            • They Call Me Trinity (1970) and Trinity is Still My Name (1971) starring Terrance Hill and Bud Spencer.

In the first, Trinity, a drifter comes to town where his brother is sheriff. His brother Bambino is actually a robber who broke the real sheriff's leg and left him for dead, and became sheriff in order to hide out. They team up against the local land baron who is trying to get rid of the Mormon settlers in a valley he wishes to own.

In the sequel, Trinity and Bambino promise their father that they will become the successful outlaws he always wanted them to be. Instead they end up repeatedly helping an itinerant family and breaking up a gun smuggling conspiracy at an old Spanish mission while posing at federal agents.

Both are pretty funny with plenty of slapstick comedy. The sequel actually did better than the first movie, becoming the highest grossing Spaghetti western ever. While I enjoyed the movies, they were not as good as My Name is Nobody, also starring Terrance Hill, IMO.

Hondo (1953) starring John Wayne and Geraldine Page

The movie is based on a short story by Louis L'Amour (L'Amour also wrote a novelization of the screenplay). Hondo Lane, a dispatch rider for the cavalry, encounters Angie Lowe, a woman living alone with her young son in the midst of hostile Apache territory. She presumes she is safe because the Apaches, under their chief Vittorio, have always left them alone.

The movie was filmed during the 3-D movie craze, which was subsiding when the movie was released. The 3-D version of the film was in theaters for only one week before the prints were recalled and the movie was released in 2-D. It is the 2-D version that is now available on DVD. A great movie.

Documentary on the White family, tap dancing outlaw celebrities in Appalachia. It was done by the Dickhouse crew of Jackass fame. Pretty well done and interesting look into one effed up family.

One of the best WWII movies ever made and a cult classic. When two escaping American World War II prisoners are killed, the German POW camp barracks black marketeer, J.J. Sefton (Holden), is suspected of being an informer.

Really good documentary. I miss tribe. Midnight Marauders and Low End Theory are both classic albums.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

                            • Margin Call -- saw it tonight at Broadway Centre.

Great cast and pretty good flick, especially for Occupy Wall Street sympathizers. There is a great symbolic scene in an elevator where Demi Moore and Simon Baker are just talking past a hispanic cleaning lady as if she isn't there.

Anyway, the movie was a little too overt about some of the anti Wall Street stuff but overall I liked it.
