Thanks for pointing out that Elysium was directed/written by Neill Blomkamp. I am more inclined to rent it now.

Anchorman is a movie that can wait until it is out on DVD or late night TV.

Good to know as we passed on this one.

Dang it, we picked this one. I'll return and report. I'm already feeling tired and may need a jumbo Coke Zero for this one.

I am inclined to skip it altogether. Reviews have not been good.

And as one of the critics said, "I forgot Jeremy Renner can act." He does a great job here.
I was too distracted by the swinging legs - I didn't even notice Bradley Cooper in that scene at all.

Yeah but I kind of liked District 9. It might be worth the price red box is charging to rent it.

Your right, I thought it had kind of a "Goodfellas" feel to it.

                  Skip it. It sucked.

District 9 was better. Bigger budget now and thus bigger bloat. But still well worth a rental (but not much more).
                    PLesa excuse the tpyos.

It could have been shortened a bit and the movie was very stupid but at times very funny. I took the kids (Mrs. PAC sat it out, probably a good thing) and we laughed a lot. An astonishing number of great cameos in the climactic scene, and a group of writers who never met a potential gag they didn't like (loved the driverless RV with bowling balls, scorpions and deep-fat fryer), filled the movie with a lot of surprises, most of them quite enjoyable. Though some will find this damning with faint praise, Anchorman 2 movie was better than the first. But if you didn't like the first at all, don't bother. If you did, don't miss this one.

Really good ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, but the trailer and a scene they showed on Fallon seemed creepy to me.

Good reviews but only pulled in 260k on opening weekend. Intended audience probably doesn't get out much.

                              • We've been holding off on taking the kids to see Frozen as we knew we'd be in SoCal for Christmas, and wanted to take them to see the movie at the El Capitan theater in Hollywood:

                                CAP.jpg

I thought the movie itself was really well done. It held the complete attention of my barely 4 year-old, which is no small feat. Although it followed the standard trajectory of typcial Disney princess movies, I'd have to say I enjoyed it, and that the snowman, Olaf, stole the show.

After the movie and a little stroll down Hollywood Blvd, it was on to more serious matters:
