  • Not sure if already posted, but "Larry Crowne" is awful. All the problems stem from a surprisingly flawed script. Tom Hanks and Nia Vardalos are credited as writers, which makes the flaws even more surprising, IMO.

    • Transformers 3. Worth the whole $12.50 I paid to see it in the theater.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Better than Transformers 2? Because that movie wasn't even worth the $0.99 was paid to RedBox it.

        • I sadly decided to go to transformers 3 because I had seen everything else.
I actually enjoyed the movie for about the first hour and a half (its a 2.5 hour movie). Then the Transformers got more involved in the story and it went to crap.
Why did they decide to make the robots so boring, with such lacking personality or human emotion? I find them all extremely boring and can't stand Optimus Prime's manner of speech.
Also, like the rest of the movies, the fight scenes with robots were too long by a factor of 3 or 4. I'm just not interested in a straight hour of special effects and stuff blowing up.

          • Off to see the new Harry Potter. The wife is excited. I'm gassy.

              • I saw Super 8 last night. It reminded me of my friends and me in middle school making movies. It even reminded me of the kid I knew who was the very definition of a pyromaniac. I thought it was a fun movie, and it's one I'd pick up on DVD.
                Not that, sickos.

It wasn't that bad. Wait, were you watching it with your kids? That makes it better.

                    • Larry Crowne.

I had heard a lot of really bad things about it.

I thought it was great. Plenty of humor (a little back acting by the character "Talia"), but other than that I thought it was a pretty good flick, since both Mrs. Monstah and I both enjoyed it.

Nope, just the Mrs. and me. It was pretty bad.

The entire movie was like a Daft Punk advertisement.

Speaking of advertising in movies, I recently saw Horrible Bosses. The product placement for the VW in that is offputtingly ridiculous. As in "let's have the characters comment on how comfortable the seats are" ridiculous, not to mention the frequent use of the navigation system.

                            • Another Redbox night last night. This time: Lincoln Lawyer. I've seen this movie before, it was called Every Matthew Mcconaughey Movie Is The Same.

Lincoln Lawyer was a hell of a lot better than most Matt McConaughey movies.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.
