        • My Father in Law raved about the movie "The Tourist". We watched it tonight. It was atrocious.

Thats why you never trust the word of one person on movies.

We rottentomatoes'd it before we watched. We knew what it was before we picked it up, despite my FIL's recommendation.

              • The Avengers this afternoon and then "We bought a Zoo" this evening. I really enjoyed both and would definitely recommend We bought a Zoo as a good rental.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

                • Dark Shadows

Not much of a cool, creative story/plot to speak of, but very Tim Burton. If you liked the Corpse Bride, you'll love this as well. I loved it b/c of that 70's goth vibe I'm obsessed with (reminds me of the Halloweens I remember as a kid when it was all mysterious, spooky, and effing scary. I could describe it as maybe how you felt in the Haunted Mansion as a kid?). Also, Johnny Depp was awesome in this. I liked this movie for the same reasons I liked Edward Scissorhands: 1. macabre, weird storyline, 2. Likable/funny characters 3. Great art direction. Also, just like Edward Scissorhands, there really is no plot besides the run of the mill plot in every movie of this ilk, so that may be a turnoff for most.

                  The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

Good fuuudge. I really wanted to like this movie, but it was a huge airball for me. First off, I felt like I was watching it at Movie Night at some massive rest home. The sheer numbers of geriatric attendees was staggering. Out of the 1,000+ people in the theatre, I bet I was the youngest male in the room The movie was loaded with Golden Girls-level jokes, but less subtle. I wonder if I would have liked it better had I watched it alone and wasn't forced to observe the movie under the interpretive duress of the senior citizen laugh track. Netflix Tuesday night special for sure...

                  • Saw "The Hunger Games" with my wife tonight and really liked it. The story is well-told and compelling and the whole movie was well-shot. It didn't seem as long as it is (2:20 or so). A pleasant surprise.

                    • Thanks for the Marigold review, Commando. I wont waste my money.

I discovered this PBS series that is awesome, called Downton Abbey. Entire first series is $1.27 at redbox. Loving it. I always thought that was a sign of aging-- that you start liking PBS brit specials.

lol. I was seriously just about to when I saw Katy's comment. But it's a little more fun to pick on you!
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I saw this last night. Overall I liked it. I didn't care much for Chloƫ Grace Moretz' character. Depp was great though.

Nice to have CUF to bring to our attention these under-the-radar movies and TV shows.

We saw The Five Year Engagement last night and it was great. Very predictable story line but some really funny moments.

Took my son to see The Avengers too and I think my expectations were a little too high but I'm still glad we went and saw it in 3D.
