I don't think we've seen the full extent of Skylar's character development. She's a tough woman who has had a lot thrown at her and while she has caved on some of her principles, I think we'll see her moral strength return to her before it all unravels.
This is what I disagree with. She is good at acting tough, but she caved on more than just "some" of her principles. From my viewpoint, the only principle she seems to have is to avoid the embarrassment of people finding out that she married a drug kingpin. At one point she may have been afraid of Walt, but she isn't anymore. And she would have to be downright stupid to not realize the danger her family is in (and has been in). We saw at the end of the last episode what Walt's enemies are willing to do with no regard to his family. And Jesse is not even his scariest enemy. Her own pride is putting her family in danger. She is even willing to destroy the lives of her sister and brother-in-law over this. Remember that she was the one that taped Walt's "confession". She didn't seem too upset by the plan either.

I think it is clear that by the end of this whole thing, her efforts to avoid the embarrassment of being married to Walt will be in vain. My guess is that she will fail at protecting her family as well. If she were truly tough and strong, she would have gone into witness protection at the beginning of Season Three. Instead, she has put her family in danger over and over again in order to save face. That isn't tough ... it is selfish, weak and pathetic.

I'm sure there are many that hate Skyler because she is a woman. It may even be majority. But there are a lot of other legitimate reasons to dislike her as a character that have nothing to do with her gender. I don't really hate her. I feel sorry for her. But I also think she could have done a lot more to avoid being in the situation she is in and that it is somewhat pathetic for her to have chosen the path she chose.

I dislike her because she didn't tell on Walt once she found out the truth. Outside of offing a bunch of people, she's enabled him and is every bit the crappy person he is.

        But you like Walt?

Not at all, I'm not invested in him "winning" one bit. I think he's a despicable, manipulative character. I'm more hoping for a good outcome for Hank and Jesse, and Flynn. I'm interested to see where it all goes, best show I've seen in a while.

Not at all. I couldn't stand her because she was such a weepy nag supreme. I like her now.

You love Walt. Everyone does. If you hate Walt, you hate the show. You think he's a horrible person, but you love him nonetheless. That is what is so interesting about the show: they have created one of the most despicable protagonists in tv history any everyone loves him. The show itself is practically devoid of moral characters. Hank and Jesse are the best examples, but they're getting demolished by Walt.

Exactly. I can't stand all the professors on here who pretend they hate Walt on principle. If that was the case they wouldn't be hanging on the show's every syllable.

I'm glad you said that because everyone here was starting to make me feel morally bankrupt or something for liking Walt.

I don't think that is true at all. You can like the show without loving Walt. Walt is a terrible person doing despicable things. I root against him ... I don't love him. I watch because I want to see him get what he deserves.

Weird. So when everyone else will feel subdued and a bit sad at Walt's upcoming demise, you will be cheering. I don't think you are in line with most viewers.

So did you think the show was boring back when Walt was just trying to create a nest egg for Sklar and the kids? Lucky for you Walt's soul turned black or you would have been very bored.

No. The show has never been boring. What does that have to do with liking or hating Walt?
