The Hispanic guy I sold it to was unable to qualify for it through Verizon. I assume that's why he paid cash. All said and done, I paid about $300 for mine, and got a bunch of accessories for free. Yeah, I walked away from that feeling privileged.

I've never tried an iPhone, so tell me what I'm missing.

            I actually don’t think it’s primarily a phone anymore.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

            • I've run to many different cadences in the Army in my time. Before going to Iraq in 2003, my commander and I were running together at Fort Lewis. He was trying to teach me a running cadence. He wanted me to sing the "Hard work work" part, and he was going to sing another part. Well due to my lack of rhythm, I just couldn't get it down. I frustrated him so badly that he said, "forget it!" Whenever I brought it up again in the future, he quickly dismissed the idea--that's how frustrated I had made him.

Well I finally heard the cadence that he was trying to teach me those many years ago.

                • Finally, an interesting keynote address for an upcoming convention:

How the NFL Solves One of the Most Challenging Schedules in Existence
Mike North, VP of NFL Broadcast Planning & Scheduling will share the details of how he and his team utilized mathematical optimization to streamline the scheduling of 256 NFL games in a 17-week period.

In this webinar, you will learn how the NFL began using Gurobi’s mathematical optimization solver to tackle this complex scheduling problem. With mathematical optimization, NFL planners can generate and analyze more than 50,000 feasible schedules despite adding more constraints to the process every year. Now rather than spending months manually constructing one schedule, the NFL planners can focus on evaluating and comparing thousands of completed schedules to determine which should be selected as the final schedule.

                  View this session and learn:
                  • How the NFL uses mathematical optimization to solve one of the most challenging scheduling problems in existence.
                  • How the NFL switched from a linear to a parallel approach to optimization.

Well, not her words, and I'm afraid I don't know how I could answer that. Should I send you a heart emoji?

                              • I went into Seagull Book today for the first time in at least a decade. Picked up a copy of "Preach My Gospel" in nearly microscopic print, the only version they had there. The book was on the packing list for the stake-sponsored "Helaman's Camp" my son is going on starting tomorrow. The agenda starts out with them rafting a stretch of the Payette river. Then the remaining couple of days is a series of devotionals and companionship study. Have fun, son!
