They need to flip that schedule.

I'll say that I don't like PMG at all. And if I hear another missionary tell me it is so much more inspired that when they used to have discussions "Because we have the freedom to follow the Spirit." Heads up dumbshit...we did as well. But with discussions, at least everything got taught!

Sitting through a missionary "discussion" now drives me nuts. And we are asked to do it like every 6 weeks. No mas!

I don't think I've heard a single missionary discussion since the switch.

The sisters in my ward went tracting for the first time ever the other day. They are both more than 12 months in. They knocked on the door before they realized they had no idea what to say if someone answered. I know COVID screwed things up, but they both said their MP decided he would not teach tracting because it was so ineffective. You think its less effective than sending strangers facebook messages all day?
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Why aren't you setting them up with appointments to visit with all your non-member friends in your home?

It is extremely awkward. You should invite the missionaries to come into your home and do it. Return and report.

And I am not disparaging anyone that has a child serving. It is what they know. I just get tired of hearing "How much more inspired PMG is than anything that has come in the past." Well guess what Chip...someone is going to say that about PMG in 20 years and you are going to think that they are bat shit crazy.

                  • Bruh I have been out so long I have no clue what PMG is.

I guess I am at the stage where my knowledge of current church practice is severely lacking.

                    Strange.

Showing signs of stage 3 cynicism. I am worried about him.

Thank you. Is this like the new missionary teaching program?

Yes. Replaces the old Discussion system. They now hold loose conversations about certain topics, in any order as necessary, without a script. But in the end, they still have to check off that all the required topics have been taught.

I wouldn't call it "new". My quick googling indicates that it was first published in 2004.

There are stages? I went from optimist to cynic pretty quickly. But I'm still optimistic at times.
