    Yes. that is annoying.

also, people that sign off with a lower case single letter. The double whammy is getting both in one email.

    Cheers!

I knew one guy at work that would sign off with an almost weezer-like logo. His first name is William, so his signoff looked like this:

        =w=

Agreed, but I admit to doing so on rare occasion. I go with "Regards", but that makes me feel like I'm a character in a Fitzgerald novel, plus I have to go back and look at my correspondent's last message to see if they sent their "Best regards." One has to be careful so as not to offend or ratchet up the relationship.

So how should one sign off?

          • Also, now that I think about it......something happens when you become a managing partner, apparently. All of a sudden, there is a need to close out your emails with profundities.

When we get spams from the National Managing Partner, he ends with "Be Well."

I have seen folks use, "Be your best," and even "Always striving."

If your automatic email signature says, "Always striving," you are a tool and take yourself way too seriously.

              I am a "regards" guy.

I have also used, "Yours cooly" if it is an important client.

                • Sometimes I will sign off an email with a simple, "Best," followed by my name or initials. The reader might think I mean "Best wishes," or something else like that. In reality I am telling the reader that I am "Best."

If it's to my wife, I say "I love you."

                        If it's my kids, "Love."
