      $2

There is a free one (can't remember the name) that my son has, but we compared last night and it isn't nearly as good or easy to use, especially for multi-page scans.

TurboScan is well worth the $2. Good find.

I use PocketScanner for this, it is 1.99 also. I don't have any experience with turboscan, but I don't have any complaints about the one I do use. Anyone used both?

          Notibility - Great notetaking app.
          - Handwriting
          - PDF import and annotation
          - Autosync to the cloud
          - Import directly from the cloud
          - Paper backgrounds
          - Themes
          - Customizable keyboard toolbar

On top of all the features it is only $.99 for the ipad when most others that are less usable cost 5-6 times as much.

          • I have Documents to Go, which I first used on my Droid. Now there is an iPad app. If you work with Word and related programs (Excel, Power Point, etc.) it is great and avoids having to deal with the funkiness of using Microsoft products on Apple devices.

            • Is there a good free or cheap ($1.99 or less) password keeper? I need a way to remember all my passwords/logins.

                • TuneIn Radio has been mentioned below. I paid $.99 for the "Pro" version and it's nice. You get a kind of DVR-like function that allows you to record a show, and that will detect commercial breaks and skip them. I like that. Still learning the other features.

                  • So I got an iPad for Christmas. I've noticed that the few apps i've downloaded on it have also appeared on my phone. Does this mean all of the apps i've purchased on my phone will also appear on my iPad once i get home and sync it up? Or does it not work that way?

Not exactly. If you downloaded iPhone specific apps, some of those wont transfer to your iPad. Some iPhone apps are also compatible with the iPad. Works the same for iPad apps....some are compatible with the iPhone, others are not. The ones that are cross compatible will transfer no problem. You dont have to re purchase them, of course.

Now that you have an iPad, go get that drawing app for the kids.

                          • I got an iPhone for Christmas. A terrific device - I'm in love with it already.

But mine is eating battery pretty fast. How do iPhone veterans deal with this?

I had some problems early on, but after the first post-iOS 5 update, my battery life has been great.
