Best iPhone/iPod Apps

I went to the pirate market here this weekend. 48 gigs of movies loaded to thumb drives. Thumb drives copied over to iTunes. About a 120 movies in all and didn't have to jailbreak it. Total cost was about $11.

2 new apps I've been using
Situationist- Upload a picture of yourself, and when you're close to another situationist user it sends you their picture and a situation you have to fulfill. The situations are things like hug me for 5 seconds exactly or ask me for my autograph. I think you have 5 minutes to do it and report, but I'm not sure exactly on the time. free

Everyday- You know those videos of people that take a picture of themselves everyday to see how they've changed? thats what this app does. You can set it to remind you every day to take a picture, and it has guides and a ghost image of your last picture to help you align the pictures right. $2

How do you navigate in a window within a window? For example, if you reply to a long post here (longer than the window that pops up) but want to delete parts of it, how do you scroll that window up and down? Does that question make any sense?

I read about this app in this morning's paper. You can snap a photo of your plate at the beginning of a meal, and it will supposedly provide a nutritional and caloric breakdown of the repast.

Assuming it works--and I have my doubts--I'm not sure I'd want it, as it would probably include a voice feature that, upon looking over my meal, would announce, "OH...COME...ON.... you're not really doing to eat all THAT? You disgust me."

I'd welcome a CUF review of this.

I would love and hate that all at once. I started my 10 pounds in 2 months this week and have been counting calories meticulously. It is kind of tough when it is made from scratch. Then again I don't need another nag in my life.

The window that it gives you when you click on 'quote'-if the original poster is more than can be contained in that small window, how do you move around within the window if you need to edit? For example, if you want to bold a certain part that's not visible in the window?

You asked right. It drove me nuts also. I'm probably not explaining it well. In the message box in the upper right hand corner there is Switch Editor button. On the left of that are two double arrows which is increase size or decrease size. Click on the bottom buttom to increase size.

Gotcha, ok. That's better, so thanks, but is that the only option--to make it bigger? No scrolling?

It increases the size of the reply box and allows you to scroll down. If there is another solution I would love to know it. I wish you could just scroll down on an iPad but a lot of sites don't support that yet.

A decent app....iSwifter. Free app that allows you to run flash content on your iPad. Main focus is for games and YouTube clips. The app is basically a web browser and the flash content is routed through iSwifters servers, I guess, then to your device.

If you have a good wi fi connection, it is pretty decent for online games and works fine for YouTube or other videos.

There is also an option to purchase the full version of the browser for a few bucks but the basic app is free.

Aso, not sure if it has already been mentioned but the photoshop express app is nice, as well. Free and let's you do some basic photo editing on the fly. Works well if your are uploading pics while on vacation, for example.

Crackle $0.00 - a movie and tv app. Don't ask me how or why but its free streaming and the catalog for both movies and tv is decent. Go get it.

I just got an update to my "Gospel Library" app that now synchs my notes on my phone with my account on www.lds.org. This is pretty cool since I've been typing my notes onto my phone, but now I can type them into lds.org and they should transfer over to my phone. This will save me some time.
