2003 was the low point for crowton and rock bottom for BYU football in the modern era. Gary had the offense turning a corner in 2004 and had recruited some good talent but the progress was too slow and there was obviously some disturbing high profile HC issues. 2017 appears to be worse so far. 265 ypg vs 313 in 2003. 12.1 ppg vs 16.3 in 2003. On pace for 27 turnovers (there were 39!! In 2003).
I think it's not debatable that the schedule so far this year has been much more difficult than 2003. But that argument only rings true if we play reasonably well against the awful teams, which we haven't. The point is I don't know if 2017 or 2003 is the post ww2 bottom for BYU. We will find out soon.
Just stop and embrace the horror. It will feel so much better, I promise. I decided to take HFN’s advice to heart. I’d rather discuss my favorite credit card or watch a random you tube video than ignore each of you completely.
He didn’t say it would be easy, he just said it would be weird.

Does anyone think that Ty Detmer should not be fired? Seems obvious to me, but then I haven't watched his fine work up close, outside of the Utah game.
It seems that the colleges of Utah went 0-2 in turning over their offenses to high school coaches.

I do not. There's so much wrong with the team right now that I can't say it's Detmer.
