Why isn't Tuberville taking a timeout on fourth down? Seems like he gave up at around the 4 min mark

That's kind of his thing. He did the same thing last year. Kind of bizarre.Originally posted by Moliere View PostWhy isn't Tuberville taking a timeout on fourth down? I think he did the same thing last year, just let us chew up the clock and run it out at the end of the game.Originally posted by Moliere View PostWhy isn't Tuberville taking a timeout on fourth down? Seems like he gave up at around the 4 min mark

Great job cougs! Was nice to see that we went with the two running back strat in the second half. Taysom had a great day as the second running back. Nice road win.Dyslexics are teople poo...

I thought hsaru wanted the Natural, the HS AA, the pocket passing backup with all the promise. Not the tough, gritty, starter, the running QB who can't throw. If anything, AA, if he's backing Hill would be the anti-hsaru, no?Originally posted by BigFatMeanie View PostDude, you're becoming the new Hsaru.

I think the total QBR is a great way to compare quarterbacks and adjusts for strength of schedule.
Tanner's was about 70 last year and Taysom's this year is 65 -- Taysom gets a lot of credit for his running. Of course last year Tanner was obviously straight off the mission and you've gotta think he would likely be better this year but hard to say for sure with as weak as the WRs and OL have looked at times this year.
So I think it's not totally crazy to think that Taysom's rushing and game management might make him about as good overall as Tanner. But for the pass EPA portion of QBR Tanner was a 62 last year while Taysom is a 19 this year. Nobody I hope could ever argue that Tanner's passing wouldn't be better than Taysom's by a very wide margin.

Yeah, BYU is benchmarking out a bit better this year but not a lot. Last year BYU was like a 35-50 team; with most of the distributional mass towards the lower 40s. This year BYU is more like a 30-45 team with most of the distributional mass in the mid to low 30s. Is that Taysom? I kind of doubt it; probably most improvements in the running game and defense.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostAfter he just lost one the week before? I want to call Taysom a game manager. Of course in two of our losses, a pick six was the difference in the outcome, so he's not been entirely successful.
